The brothers arent in bad shape since they went alot on travel, but they should have not the bodies of soldiers. The clothing should be from the time around 1820~ just a bit more colorful and a bit more modern. They should not resamble boring storytellers. More like in the movie of The Brothers Grimm The brothers are from 1820

Background Information
Quote from Wikipedia: The brothers spent their formative years first in the German town of Hanau and then in Steinau. Their father's death in 1796, when Jacob was eleven and Wilhelm ten, caused great poverty for the family and affected the brothers for many years. They attended the University of Marburg where historian and jurist Friedrich von Savigny spurred their interest in philology and Germanic studiesa field in which they are now considered pioneersand at the same time developed a curiosity for folklore, which grew into a lifelong dedication to collecting German folk tales. Summarized information: The brothers traveled around and studied folklore. While doing that they also collected folk tales. Most tales were known before, but the Brothers Grimm were the first writting them together and printed them into a book. This collection is known as Childrens and Household Tales. The first book was published 1812, the second 1815. Later tales were added to later editions.

Introduction
The Grimm Brothers are famous for bringing tales to life.
They gathered many tales and wrote them down in their books. In a normal world our story would end here, but not in the world of magic. After their first tale books they decided to experiment with some superior! They tried to use magic to bring tales to life. So they bound an empty book and started with the words "The Tales of Grimm Brothers". They started perform the magic, to bring life to their book, but they failed... somehow. The space distorted around them and their characters appeared out of their books, then everything went black... The only thing that was left was the unwritten book with the title "The Tales of Grimm Brothers" and the intro... "The Grimm Brothers are famous for bringing fables to life. They gathered many tales and wrote them down

Story
At one day, an atlantian will release the Brothers Grimm from their slumber. He finds the book and opens it and the brothers appear in front of him. The brothers are bound by the book to its owner and will act as mercenaries. While one brother got a gun, the other holds the book. One of the effects of their magic was, that all their characters from the tale came to life, they just need to sommun them. These characters will aid the brothers temporaly in battle.
