CHICAGO - "The thrill is gone?" read the headline on a Tribune story about playoff tickets at Wrigley Field going for "under face value."
True. Thanks to the Chicago Cubs' poor performance in the first part of the National League Championship Series - plus the proximity to last year's historic triumph - you could indeed buy tickets to this past week's home games for a little less than "face." I even bought a couple myself.
But this is old-school thinking about ticketing.
