BOURBONNAIS, Ill. - Callous means being hardened and thickened, a word Merriam-Webster recommends using as an adjective.
For emphasis, Matt Nagy made it a verb.
Football coaches will understand as English teachers cringe.
"We have to callous our team a little bit," the Bears coach said Thursday as his team reported to training camp at Olivet Nazarene University.
How interesting, given the Bears were affected by injuries in 2017 more than any other team in the league except the Redskins, according to Football Outsiders.
