Meet James (left) and partner Philippe, dedicated fruit growers with an impressive collection of rare fruit trees on their beautiful property at Lillian Rock, near the Border Ranges National Park in northern NSW. When they arrived there some 18 years ago, they planted a jackfruit tree. Now there are many jackfruit tree varieties producing an abundance of this unique juicy fruit that tastes like bubble-gum.
About eight acres of the 125-acre property are cultivated with fruit trees and gardens. The couple buy their trees from Daleys Fruit Tree Nursery and Forbidden Fruits and also grow from seeds they have collected from various places. Here’s just a sample of what they have growing:
