Let’s talk of what’s good in the world.

It’s easy to forget what’s going well when there’s so much focus on what’s going wrong. The news cycle seems to turns on crime and environmental disasters and economic crises and autocrats. When you ask someone how they are, the reply is often “not too bad”, as though bad is the default position. Pop your head into any workplace and you’re bound to hear a weighty bassline of discontent rumbling through its staff.

Now, I’m no Pollyanna (as my co-workers will attest) and I’m not passing judgment. Humans have evolved with an inbuilt negativity bias, to weigh negative input more heavily
