Beekeeping can be a satisfying pastime and the rewards are very sweet indeed. Apart from the obvious — honey — there is also the improved pollination of plants and the joy of getting to know an amazing community that works so hard for the hive.

There is also a great deal of satisfaction to be had in helping such an important part of the environment that’s under attack from a number of threats, many of them caused by human activities. Bee populations are in crisis and its something backyard beekeepers can help adress.
