Fruitarian pros and cons

Fruitarianism is a mystery to most. Here to de-mystify is trail runner Lourens van der Colf, a fruitarian for the last 17 years.

THE BEGINNING

I didn’t wake up one morning and decide to go fruity! It was a process of elimination that took several years.

I struggled with my health since my early teens, leading to major spells of depression during puberty. No conventional therapies worked, so I tried something different; eliminating foods that made me feel bad. I ended up with fruit. Nothing makes me feel better than a diet of juicy, sweet fruit - and tons of it!
