Fugitive wanted in connection with US$76,670 luxury watches robbery captured in Shenzhen
A Hong Kong fugitive wanted in connection with the robbery of three luxury watches from a Tsim Sha Tsui store in September was handed over to the city's police on Wednesday after being arrested across the border in mainland China.
The 26-year-old man was seized in Shenzhen over the daring robbery, where he snatched HK$600,000 (US$76,670) worth of goods from the Omega shop on the ground floor of The One shopping centre on Nathan Road at about 7.30pm on September 30.
Dressed in a suit, the suspect asked shop employees to show him three watches. But he soon pulled an air pistol from his bag and threatened staff.
The man then grabbed the luxury items before fleeing.
Police said the suspect had dumped the pistol, a jacket and a top into a rubbish bin at the mall before taking a ferry to Macau from the China Ferry Terminal on Canton Road that night. The dumped items were recovered from a waste transfer station.
The suspect later sneaked onto the mainland from Macau but was arrested, Yau Tsim district police commander Chan Tsz-leung said.

Mainland media reported that he was arrested on October 10 in Luohu district, Shenzhen.
The watches were recovered in Luohu, and in the Xiangzhou district of Zhuhai.
'Gun-toting' US$76,000 Omega watch thief caught on camera
The man, who was being detained in Hong Kong, was handed over with the watches at the Huanggang port in Shenzhen on Wednesday afternoon.
Police believed he was also connected to the theft of watches in Yuen Long and Sheung Shui in two cases in August worth HK$150,000 (US$19,167).
