Armchair travels of a textile lover

Located close to the Old Delhi Railway Station we find the Chandni Chowk (Moonlight Square) markets. Built in the 17th century, the area was once divided by canals (now closed) to reflect moonlight and remains one of India’s largest wholesale markets.
The markets are h uge and they are organised into various sections. At the famous Chandni Chowk cloth section they sell everything from clothes to home furnishings. The fabrics range from cotton, chiffon, net and georgette to sheer and zardozi work as well as traditional artwork, fabrics, buttons, braid and ribbons.
