About this audiobook
Josh Cameron is basketball royalty–MVP of the Championship Boston Celtics and a media darling with a spotless reputation. He’s got it all, including something he never even knew he had: a daughter.
Twelve-year-old Molly Parker catches Josh off guard. Molly claims her mother, Jen, revealed his true identity before losing her battle with cancer. Of course, Josh doesn’t believe her. Still, there is something about Molly–a certain look she gets and her smart-aleck way that reminds Josh so much of Jen.
Yet as Molly gets to know Josh, it’s she who has the doubts. Suddenly she understands why her mother never wanted her to know the real Josh Cameron, the one the camera never sees. Josh has room in his heart for only two things: basketball and himself. Does Molly really want this man for a father?
New York Times best-selling author and ESPN personality Mike Lupica introduces this hoop story with heart just in time for the holidays. Another undeniable winner.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5A book that was different than other books I have read by the same author. I thought the story line was interesting, but I would have liked there to be a bit more at the end of the story to really wrap things up.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The book Miracle on 49th Street is the best book I have read so fair. The author of this book, Mike Lupica draws you into the book so much. He also does a great job with describing the characters in a way that makes you feel like you are in the book with them.Molly Parker goes on the biggest adventure in her life trying to find out if Celtic superstar Josh Cameron is her real father. The book will have you clenching your teeth and your palms sweating on how interesting this book is.Miracle on 49th Street is not for everyone but if you are a fan of the Celtics or basketball in general then you will love the book Miracle on 49th Street by Mike Lupica, Because I know I did!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This book is about a young girl named, Molly who has lost her mother. She finds out that her dad is an NBA star for the Boston Celtics. The NBA star, Josh Cameron, thinks this girl is crazy and tells her to leave him alone at first. As soon as Josh finally starts to believe that he is her father, Molly’s foster home parents move away and she is forced to make a decision. Josh Cameron is the antagonist and tries to get his “daughter” out of his life. The cover is a basketball spinning on a person’s finger. This is appealing because it gives info about the story and is also drawn very detailed. This book is open to any reader, especially the ones who get the father/daughter relationship, or someone who loves basketball.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Book talk: There's a basketball on the cover; therefore, this is a guy's book. The main character is a girl; therefore, this is a chick book. The Boston Celtics are part of the storyline; therefore, this is a book for guys. Another part of the storyline is about Molly, who lost her mother to cancer; therefore, this book is for girls. This girl Molly thinks the star point guard of the Celtics is her dad; therefore, uhhhhhhhhh, I don't know. If you want a peek into a sports-superstar's world (a fictitious superstar), and you don't mind the sometimes sad parts about Molly and her mom, then it doesn't matter if you are a super-stud or high-maintenance girly-girl, this is a pretty good story!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5If you like basketball ans you like happy endings, this is the book for you.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Best book i ever read. Really good basketball story with really god scenes
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Amazing book!! If you like basketball and a journey, this book is for you.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Very good read slow but good. It is about a young girl whose dad is a big time basketball player and he doesn't know that.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book was awesome. I loved the ending of the book.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I think it's a very sweet, very nice book, however the ending seemed a bit rushed, and actually kind of came up on me by surprise. Occasionally, it felt kitschy, almost like a Disney Channel movie. Still, I liked it.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Another excellent book by Mike Lupica.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5WOW! After i read this book i was very sad... I DIDNT WANT IT TO END! It was a very good page turner! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I've read and enjoyed Travel Team by Mike Lupica and always recommend it to reluctant readers who like sports. This book was even better!
I was immediately interested in this story when Josh Cameron drove away from Molly. I had to know what was going to happen. I hid in my office so that I could finish it! The characters were believable and engaging. It was even better than Travel Team. There wasn't a lot of basketball in this book, which was great for me, but my boy readers will not go for this! That's my only beef with this book - middle grade boys will pick it up and be a little disappointed because it's very character driven. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This was a great book for young adults and children. A wonderful heartwarming story.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Molly's mother had recently died, and the only family she has left is her selfish and arrogant father, Josh Cameron.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Molly Parker's mom, Jen, has just lost her battle with cancer. Before she died, she gave Molly a series of letters. One of the letters reveals the identity of Molly's father, who happens to be none other than Josh Cameron, one of the biggest stars in the NBA. Molly is determined to get to know Josh. She is resourceful, persistent, and sneaky when she feels it necessary. She develops a relationship with Josh that goes through a series of ups and downs. Molly is looking for family, and Josh doesn't really seem to believe her story. This is a feel-good read that kept me turning pages to discover if Molly and Josh ever learned to accept each other and make peace.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This is the third Lupika book I've read, and I've liked them all. The main character's mother dies, but before she does, she reveals to her daughter that her father is Josh Cameron, MVP of the Boston Celtics. The daughter decides to meet him, and he is NOT as thrilled to meet her as she'd hoped. As a matter of fact, he doesn't believe she is his daughter.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book is not only about sports. Infact, this book probably has more warm feeling than sports. Molly developes an interesting connection with Josh Cameron, the Celtics basketball player.
