- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Agatha Christie never fails to bring a twist to her tales. I enjoy listening to her short stories as I work. I can complete a chapter in the time it takes me to finish a task. My mind is always kept glued to the tale at hand.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Excellent. I have to get some more Agatha Christie. I hope to make some comments on these stories at a later time.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Some of the stories were great! But unfortunately, not everything in this collection was well written. Still enjoyable enough.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I really liked these short stories. I've noticed that Christie mixes the happy romantic endings with the bittersweet ones. At the end of these 9 short stories there are short stories with Poirot and Mr. Harley Quin. I haven't gotten to read any novels with Mr. Quin in them, but now I really want to. He seems like a neat character. I've also noticed that Christie puts in an element of the unexplained in some of her short stories, which I don't usually see in her novels. This collection of short stories is one of the best I've read so far.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Length was fine, but believability of plots is a bit flat.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Interesting stories by Agatha Christie, the famous mystery writer, though not every story has a mystery tied to it. Nevertheless there are twists in some of the endings, making the entire reading quite an enjoyable one :)
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This collection of short stories written over Christie's long career focus less on her traditional murder mysteries (although it does include a Poirot investigation) and on more psychological thrillers aimed to explore the dark side of the soul. Often clever and always well written in her crisp, precise style, these stories are a delight to read.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5A collection of Christie's short stories including one Hercule Poirot mystery. A pleasure to read all around.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Wow! Quite different than expected! A few supernatural stories! Didn’t know that that was in Agatha Christie’s repertoire! All interesting stories, all leave you wanting more!?
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Agatha writes some really cute stories that are short, quick, and fun to read. Also, I was pretty sure that Mr. Satterthwaite was tripping.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Like others reviewers have said, the hype surrounding Agatha Christie is most certainly appropriate. She absolutely knew how to write a story. In this series of short stories, the one which blew me away and moved me to the core was The Lonely God. I teared up at this powerful and amazing story. She cut to heart of the human condition of loneliness and painted a beautiful enduring love story.
