Hercule Poirot is joined by the mysterious problem solver Harley Quin in the pages of The Harlequin Tea Set and Other Stories—a collection of ingenious short masterworks of mystery and suspense that showcase the legendary Agatha Christie at her very best.

A grand treasure for fans of the grande dame of mystery, The Harlequin Tea Set and Other Stories brings together nine rare and brilliant Christie tales of murder and detection that span nearly half a century of her storytelling genius.

In The Mystery of the Spanish Chest, Hercule Poirot unravels the psychological conundrums that motivate a killer. . . . In The Actress, a great star's shady past becomes the plaything of a blackmailer. . . . In The Harlequin Tea Set, Mr. Harley Quin helps a man save his loved ones from the greedy hand of murder. These and six other stories of danger and detection complete this stellar collection.

Agatha Christie never fails to bring a twist to her tales. I enjoy listening to her short stories as I work. I can complete a chapter in the time it takes me to finish a task. My mind is always kept glued to the tale at hand.

Excellent. I have to get some more Agatha Christie. I hope to make some comments on these stories at a later time.

Some of the stories were great! But unfortunately, not everything in this collection was well written. Still enjoyable enough.

I really liked these short stories. I've noticed that Christie mixes the happy romantic endings with the bittersweet ones. At the end of these 9 short stories there are short stories with Poirot and Mr. Harley Quin. I haven't gotten to read any novels with Mr. Quin in them, but now I really want to. He seems like a neat character. I've also noticed that Christie puts in an element of the unexplained in some of her short stories, which I don't usually see in her novels. This collection of short stories is one of the best I've read so far.

Length was fine, but believability of plots is a bit flat.

Interesting stories by Agatha Christie, the famous mystery writer, though not every story has a mystery tied to it. Nevertheless there are twists in some of the endings, making the entire reading quite an enjoyable one :)

This collection of short stories written over Christie's long career focus less on her traditional murder mysteries (although it does include a Poirot investigation) and on more psychological thrillers aimed to explore the dark side of the soul. Often clever and always well written in her crisp, precise style, these stories are a delight to read.

A collection of Christie's short stories including one Hercule Poirot mystery. A pleasure to read all around.

Wow! Quite different than expected! A few supernatural stories! Didn’t know that that was in Agatha Christie’s repertoire! All interesting stories, all leave you wanting more!?

Agatha writes some really cute stories that are short, quick, and fun to read. Also, I was pretty sure that Mr. Satterthwaite was tripping.

Like others reviewers have said, the hype surrounding Agatha Christie is most certainly appropriate. She absolutely knew how to write a story. In this series of short stories, the one which blew me away and moved me to the core was The Lonely God. I teared up at this powerful and amazing story. She cut to heart of the human condition of loneliness and painted a beautiful enduring love story.
