      The first three chapters drew me in and I didn't hesitate to purchase the rest of the book. The writing wasn't fantabulous. There were a few grammatical errors and incorrect/missing words, but it wasn't bad. It's my policy to forgive much and suspend belief for the sake of a great plot. I just had to know how Ev would deal with the fallout of her drunken Vegas marriage to a famous rock star.

      Vegas-Ev was strong, assertive, despite waking up on the bathroom floor, hung-over and sick. David was there in his inked-hotness-glory, holding her hair back and tending her every need. Vegas-Ev had blacked him out of her memory, along with their entire night together, including the wedding and the tattoo of his name on her butt. Thank you, Tequila. Now that Vegas-Ev is sober and thinking logically, she knows it had to be a mistake. Nothing puts her upcoming internship and future at stake. Vegas-Ev sends him packing. She returns home and quickly discovers an annulment from a rock star isn't going to be simple.

      By this time, I'm doing a happy dance. I go online and click the purchase button. "Yay!" I tell myself. "This is going to be fun, fun, FUN!" Then the plot came to a screeching halt for about 15 or so chapters.

      The middle chunk of this book read like the author wasn't sure where she was going. The story wandered with boring dialogue and alternated between angry or unemotional sex. I have no idea what happened to Vegas-Ev. She became Split-Personality-Ev, a complete doormat who went out of her way to avoid the shame of hurting someone's (ANYONE'S) feelings in any way. WTH? Vegas-Ev returns around Chapter 18 after a brief "whoopsie" in the alley where she has more angry sex with David. Let's face it. Kissing him and boinking his brains out was the only way to shut him up, right?. Angry (again) she morphs into Pissed-Off-Independent-Woman-Ev, eventually she even tells her father: "You're wrong."

      I am woman, hear me roar!

      I know, I know, but it WAS an improvement over Doormat-Ev. Then there was David. I finished the book without a clue who he was. Short of "inked hotness" and "awesomely sexy" he was a complete shell. No depth.

      I think what killed it for me was the lack of romance. The sex overpowered the story and I couldn't connect emotionally with the characters. It turned out to be boring insta-love. It was a shame, because the beginning was so good. There was tremendous potential for chemistry, wit, and romance, but my five star read dimmed to two and a half. Maybe the next book is better.

      This audiobook was fantastic. Andi Arndt does a great job at narrating the story of Evelyn and David.
      This is a insta-connection love story between a simple girl and a rockstar. They meet in Vegas, get drunk and end up married. She wakes up the next morning not remembering anything and basically runs back home.
      I don't usually like the insta-love trope but this book was so funny and sweey, I couldn't help but love it.

      Once again I did a listen to a book I have previously read. I remembered finding this book in the store and the tattooed rock god on the cover caught my eye. Honestly I bought the book for my mom as a gift! I had terrible intentions since I wanted to read it myself as well, so I kinda bought it for me haha.

      I actually very much enjoyed this book. It’s starts off with a typical woke up in Vegas married theme, but it was well played out. This book is only told from the female protagonist’s point of view so you are just as in the dark without her memories and you have no idea what this male is thinking unless he voices it out loud (typical of all men though right?). So after waking up in Vegas with no memory of how she got in this hotel room, Evelyn finds herself next to a hot man she doesn’t know and a ring on her finger. Clearly the most logical thing to do is say it was a mistake and fix it right? Apparently not when you piss off the stranger who didn’t know she was that drunk she can’t remember their night together… It takes her flying home and being bombarded with paparazzi to learn that her mystery husband is David, huge rock star part of the world famous Stage Dive band.

      Now she needs help from David to settle the divorce and hide from the press for a little while. David flys her out to LA to be with him and the band where they have security, which is the start of a wild rollercoaster ride for these two. While waiting for legal paperwork to be drawn up, these two spend more time with each other and through the ups and downs keep learning more every day. By the time the divorce papers are ready, are they ready to say goodbye? Or can they navigate a new relationship and see where life takes them…?

      There is a great storyline here that’s filled with drama, great side characters, great character development between these two, and so many secrets that slowly get revealed making you wonder what could possibly happen next. The book was full of comic relief from side characters, full of steamy tension that’s being denied between the mains, and full of feel good feels. A great read and a great start to this series.

      I tried to read this book 2 times, and let me tell you... I couldn’t finish it! It was boring and the main female character Evelyn seemed so annoying and immature, David the male character was such a dick and immature as well. Good luck to anyone who reads it I just couldn’t finish it at all.

      The Stage Dive series is a favorite. I return and listen to it often. It’s like comfort food or your comfy sweats, always something to look forward to. Kylie Scott’s characters are written as if you know them as friends. Each band member has a different personality and underneath all the squabbles and disagreements you know they love one another as family as well as friends.

      After being pushed few times by some of my pick-it-for-me challenge fellows and other friends I have decided to give up and read this book. Now I understand what is this all fuss about.

      This is not a book that has changed my life in any way or that I will remember it as time goes by. Seriously, I can't even say that it will be one of my favourite books because it will probably be not. And the plot... to be honest... it is not that innovative or outstanding or something. So what is the magic by its covers? Why to give it a four stars review? Because it is an absolutely great read. It is an essence of entertaining reading. Lick grabs you at the beginning and keeps you glued to it 'till the end. Really.

      And I'm not sure if I really can explain that phenomenon.

      Because to be honest with you and myself I have to admit that as I said before the plot isn't that wonderful. In fact there are some schemes I usually don't like in my books. Like, if the characters talk to each other a little bit more they wouldn't fight over some minor shit. Or them being jealous without a right to be. Or running away instead of talking. But what is important is that it was all done with such a finesse that it didn't bother me at all. I was just reading on without rolling my eyes even once. That's the magic of this story I think.

      And the characters are likeable, too. I generally prefer 3rd person narration and in the first few pages I was afraid I wouldn't have a proper insight into David feelings. But once again it didn't bother me at all during the story. So I believe both David and Ev are described and developed enough. I liked that she isn't some immature crying brat or that his surely difficult past isn't dragged out enormously. I have also enjoyed the interactions with the secondary characters.

      And this is it. That's all. It was just a pleasurable book to read. And God knows, how rare it really is! That is why I have given it a strong four starts without hesitation.

      Read it, you will have some great time, I promise!

      What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas - unless you wake up on the bathroom floor after a heavy night of drinking and find yourself married to a sexy rock star you don't remember marrying, that is. Evelyn and David are as different as night and day, so can they give this marriage a shot, or should they just cut their losses and get a quickie annulment? That, my friends, is the question.When I say this book is hot, that's an understatement. I get the vapors just thinking about it! I loved the main characters so much, but I also fell in love with the secondary characters. I have to say that this was a very quick read because one scene just flowed naturally into the next. I definitely recommend this to anyone in need of a hot contemporary romance, and I look forward to reading the next book in the series.5/5 stars.*** I would like to thank NetGalley, Macmillan Australia, and Kylie Scott for the opportunity to read and review this book.

      Evelyn has a wild 21st birthday that leads her to Rock Legend David Ferris.

      When she wakes up married to him she can't remember a single thing from the night before. She wants it all to go away and heads home where she is greeted by paparazzi and fans. When it all becomes too much she decides to take up David's offer to live with him for a bit.

      They try to figure out the annulment papers, but begin to fall for one another.



      This book was a page turner! I'm not much for Rock Star romances, but this one balanced both worlds perfectly. The built up romance was great and the little details added life to the story.

      Unforunately, this book had a very familiar theme that is popular nowadays. Rich, bad boy meets normal, every-day girl and they have issues, fall in love, have issues, get married, have issues, etc...However, this book starts out with a Vegas wedding and the girl has no recollection of how it happened. David and Evelyn were basic cardboard cutouts, with no real depth nor personality. While the writing style was pretty good, I had a hard time connecting with them as a couple, because I didn't know who they were. Their attraction and love didn't ring true to me, which made me not care about their issues and resolutions towards them. The side characters were no better, IMO and it's doubtful I will continue on with this series.

      A friend sent me this book and I knew it was going to be cheesy new adult romance and my issues with this book had nothing to do with that aspect.I went on a bit of a twitter rampage while reading this book and I've gathered them together, because it basically sums up my issues with this book:-When the protag constantly describes herself as "big boned" "lumpy" "bumpy" "unwieldy" & similar, it's hard for me to have a positive image-I get that she's "not a size four", shit, neither am I anymore, but can she not be positive about her curvy figure?!-It's not endearing to read about a girl who thinks she's dumpy and fat getting the hot guy. Let's have some body positivity-I have enough insecurities on my own, don't really want to read about a girl trashing herself every other page-Oh good, now our protag wears her "skinny" friend's jeans because she got cheated on and stopped eating and sleeping. -Can't wait for her to get back with her self-centered, trust issues, cheating jackass rockstar asshole man so he can tell her she's more beautiful when she weighs more-OH even better. She won't listen to him apologize, won't forgive him, so they're angry fucking in a dirty alley-THERE IT IS. He noticed she lost weight, loved her curves. Wants to feed her pizza till she puts the weight back on. No lie-Gaahd. Last sentence was terrible. And do women really enjoy being called "baby"? Ugh. Glad it's over! I suppose I broadened my horizons?In short, I have no problem with romance/erotica, nor do I have an issue with the "plain, normal girl manages to snag ultra-hot celebrity because her plain normalness is refreshing" trope - I actually enjoy those things now and then. But I could not get over how constantly down on herself our main character was. I don't encounter this often (I read a lot of fantasy, no time to think about how fat your ass is when you have to master your newfound powers, stop a prophecy, slay a dragon, etc. etc.) and it was jarring. Every time she talked about how friggen "unwieldy" she was (also I don't believe a modern 21-year-old would ever describe herself using that particular adjective) I was taken out of the story. Not to mention, the man she falls in love with is a selfish prick with trust issues and a serious anger management problem. Nothing about their relationship was cheesily charming and I'd say that you're better off heading over to Archive of Our Own and digging through the explicit fanfictions there because I've found a lot of phenomenal fic writers with none of this ridiculous insecure 20-something crap.

      Have you ever imagined waking up married to a rock star ? Well, Ev didn't either, which she explained clearly when she threw up on him after hearing the news. Vegas baby, it' a mysterious and magical black hole of sin. Ev wakes to find a tattooed man in her bathroom with her and a huge ring on her finger and doesn't remember anything, nor does she know him. She's shocked to say the least and doesn't have the best of responses to him. Her life is fairly controlled and planned out this doesn't fit. Her fears, control her.David is the guitarist for a major rock group, hunky star, and has sexy groupies to spare. He reacts to her reaction by running and calling his lawyers. *Annulment time. * things don't go as planned when he brings her out to LA to settle matters and his troupe of law dogs set her off in a fury. He tries to help her as her life is battered by the press and the public. His help is not appreciated and he goes about acting out and being a complete jerk. His past, his career, his lifestyle are not compatible to hers. His scars run deep and have him making some bad moves.Together they bumble, trip, fall, rise, slip, crash, slam, and laugh. What these two don't do it communicate soon enough. Their insecurities rule and they suffer. The outside world doesn't want them to be happy the inside group may not either. The love story gets complicated by secrets and lies. The worst battle they face is themselves, they are messed up people. The other band characters where wonderful. Mel the drummer, my personal favorite will be hard one to tame. Jimmy, he has some skeletons that need to be dragged out and buried and Ben ? Well, we didn't get a lot on him but I'd like more.I really enjoyed this fiery romantic twist. I used to fantasize about marrying a rock star who didn't ? The complications written here seemed realistic and had me rethinking my past desires. LOL Having a life is not easy if your famous. Loving somebody who is famous is not easy. It was slightly predictable, but had a lot of shocking moments that had me up all night reading. I liked these two and wanted the best for them. I could believe it, and I could boo, hiss and cheer for it too. A great light emotional ride.

      Evelyn went to Las Vegas with a friend to celebrate her twenty-first birthday - and maybe get laid. She didn't expect to wake up the next morning with the hangover from Hell and a new husband. Even worse, her new husband is David Ferris from the really hot band Stage Dive. Since she spent the whole first chapter throwing up, David was right to assume that she didn't want to stay married to him. She goes home to Portland and he goes home to LA thinking that a quick annulment is the way to go. But when the paparazzi make her life in Portland impossible, he is quick to bring her to LA to protect her. However, his LA house is filled with bandmates, groupies, and lawyers which has Evelyn walking out again. Both David and Evelyn are stubborn and have explosive tempers. They are also both really attracted to each other. After escaping to his house in Monterey, they begin to get to know each other and decided to give their marriage a try. But a secret that David has been keeping almost ruins it for both of them.I liked this romance a lot. David and Evelyn were both strong, complex characters who fit each other very well. The sex scenes were spicy without being too kinky. I liked the friendships that David had with his bandmate Mal and that Evelyn had with her roommate Lauren. I can't wait to read about the rest of the band finding their true loves.

      I enjoyed Lick for what it was--a fun, light ordinary girl meets rock star story. I mean, come on, who hasn't had that fantasy a time or two in their lives (especially in your teens and early 20's)? I thought this book could have been much better served from having both Ev and David's POVs, though, as his motivation for getting married and staying married doesn't ring quite as clear and true as I would liked for it to have (but then again, I LOVE having the hero's POV in romance novels). I loved Mal, though, which was one reason why I bought and read Play within days of finishing Lick.

      Enjoyable, sexy, fun read. I've never read anything with the rockstar aspect before so this was definitely one I wanted to pick up. I loved both Ev and David and how the story started with a little bit of mystery from Ev and her forgotten Vegas night. Really enjoyed this one and look forward to reading more of the Stage Dive series.

Evelyn wakes up with the worst hangover ever, surprised to find a sexy stranger in her hotel room. Figuring she must have had a few too many tequila shots, Evelyn gets an even bigger shock when she realises she is sporting a massive sparkler on the third finger of her left hand. If only she could remember the night before! Scott's writing style is flowing and thoughtful. The conversations are natural and realistic, the detail considered. A really easy read that combines great storytelling with descriptive sex scenes that, unlike so many erotica titles, didn't make me cringe once. This book made me smile, frown, laugh out loud, cringe and I even had a tear in my eye at one point. It's a slick and sexy riotous romp of an introduction to the Stage Dive series. 4.5/5

      A sexy contemporary romance, Lick, the first book in the Stage Dive series, was first self published by its Australian author Kylie Scott but has since been picked up by traditional publishers in several countries and earned her a place on the USA Today Bestseller List. I have to be honest, I wasn’t expecting a lot from this title, even though it seems to have captured the imagination of thousands of readers, so I was pleasantly surprised to find it to be an entertaining, sweet and quick read.“Let me get this straight, you don’t remember anything?”“No,” I said, swallowing hard. “What did we do last night?”“We got f**g married.” he growled.”Lick begins with twenty one year old Evelyn waking in her hotel room after a wild night in Vegas to discover a 5 carat ring on her finger, a tattoo on her ass and the presence of tall, dark and gorgeous rock god David Ferris. Unable to remember much of anything, but convinced both she and David have made a terrible drunken mistake, Evelyn offers David a simple annulment and returns to Portland to pick up her quiet life where she left off. It is a sensible plan, but word of their Elvis impersonator officiated marriage has been leaked and Ev is ambushed by paparazzi. Doesn’t mean it isn’t the most incredible thing that can ever happen to you.”Though labeled a New Adult title due to the ages of the protagonists, Lick doesn’t seem to have any trouble attracting a more mature audience. If funny, sexy and sweet romance is your thing then take a stage dive into Lick.

So imagine Ev's surprise to come to on the floor of a bathroom, hungover like she's never been before and hopes to never be again. But the surprise isn't the hangover, after all, it had been her 21st birthday. Even a guy being there wasn't too shocking, since part of her birthday plan had involved sex. Nope, the shocker was what she found on her hand - a rock the size of a Shetland pony. She was amazed she could even lift her hand off the floor. . . It takes longer for the second shock to penetrate because it is so far from her realm of imagination. Her new husband is a rock star, namely the guitarist of her best friend's favorite band. David is sweet and neurotic, while Ev is nervous and self-conscious. The two start out great, especially once they get away from LA. But once they have to return everything goes downhill but fast.The romance and emotions between the two characters feels authentic in a whirlwind kind of way. And the way Ev steps outside her comfort zone is endearing. The bumps in the road are expected, but it's how they handle things going forward that really informs these characters, making them relatable and engaging you in the drama that is life. So their drama is bigger and brighter than most - that is what happens when you live under the scrutiny of paparazzi, the media, and all the fans. It turned out to be a much sweeter love story than I had been anticipating. And the maturing that Ev, David, and, well almost all the other characters do is a pleasant surprise. For the most part, it is also believable. One of the things I loved most about David was how he really saw Ev for who she was. That and he preferred her to look like a real woman, curves and all. She wasn't a size zero, or probably even a six or an eight, and even though he had waif-thin models drooling all over him, he loved & wanted Ev. He didn't try to change her - except once when they first tentatively begin speaking and he comments on how he'll have to feed her 15-cheese pizza on a regular basis to get back her curves (as she'd lost weight because of the stress of their split). Though a bit fast in places, it could happen like this given the right two personalities at the right time. A fun read, without leaving us lingering in the heartbreak for so long that we get tired of the story or lose sympathy for the characters. Nicely paced throughout, this book makes for a solid beach-read, or a girl-time break curled up by a roaring fire in the middle of winter. Though the heat between some of these characters may make that fire unnecessary!

      A drunk'n Vegas night might have seemed like a good idea but in the morning light it sure leads to quite the adventure for Ev. Of course I fell in love with David - he a ho, moody, rock star so what's not to love. It's a roller coaster of a love story. Some hot steamy sex scenes. Fabulous ending.

      I'm one of those weirdos who are afraid to try a new series by a favorite author. If it sucks I'll be disappointed for the rest of my life and would probably never pick up another book by him/her ever again! I'd just feel so betrayed. I was very glad and relieved that I didn't hate this book.From the beginning the book sounded cheesy and a little over the top, but I gave it a try anyways. Evelyn is sober enough to get married to David, but not enough to remember she got married until she wakes up and pukes on her new hubby. Kinda funny, but I was thinking, wtf almost all the way through the book.I liked Evelyn and David as characters, but things were way dramatic between the two in certain parts. When Evelyn spies David and his ex kissing, when David realizes Evelyn doesn't remember him or their wedding day; It's all blown to epic proportions. Yeah, it's a little amusing. Realistic? Not so much. (If you're thinking, "but it's fiction, it doesn't have to be realistic," I'm going to hurt you in my mind.) The drama was so annoying, I wanted to smack them and be likeCALM DOWN.All-in-all, I'm sad to say it wasn't a favorite for me. I much prefer her zombie stories, but I'm definitely looking forward to the next book in the series. I was greatly amused by the band itself, and as a lover of band romance, I'd love to delve deeper into the series.
