- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I felt I needed a distracting read that didn't take too much brainpower and this certainly fit the bill. Mr. Humes has a lengthy CV, but is a tad myopic in his adorations...the "Great Communicator" {snort} Reagan (Humes wrote for him, Eisenhower, Nixon, ...), but more Churchill (Humes authored a biography...) than anything. Count half of this as having value, less for experienced speakers, slightly more for inexperienced. A few nuggets are good advice, but most of this is just extraneous stories to fluff out his list.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Good advice for speakers. James has experience with high profile speakers and so has a depth of knowledge. I hope to use some of his ideas. Unfortunately, it takes experience and not just reading to improve.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Must for those who aspire to speak and leave a lasting impact on his/her listener. To be read time and again. Simple, easy to understand tips and techniques to master the art of public speaking.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5It's references are rather dated, referring to individuals like Elizabeth Dole who has not been in the public eye since the mid-90s, or referring to bouffant hairdos. Otherwise, the generic advice is okay.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5It’s a pretty good book. The advice is well researched. I feel like this book would be best for aspiring politicians. A lot of the leader ship and speech skills relate to presidents
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I really enjoyed this book by Humes. As a young christian minister it gave me several clear and easy to remember tips which I will (and have already) use. Worth the read.
