- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5A chilling recounting of the most hidden race crimes in history: the racial cleansing of rural towns. This is a practice that happened in numerous states all over the union. Usually following a crime in which a black man is accused, the white residents of the town band together and drive out all black residents sometimes lynching a few. These occasions are marked by a sudden collapse of the black population - a collapse that never recovers even in modern day.The author's meticulous journalism and devotion to this topic is truly inspiring. Truth will out.
