About this audiobook

Most of us look at our days in the wrong way: We exaggerate yesterday. We overestimate tomorrow. We underestimate today. The truth is that the most important day you will ever experience is today. Today is the key to your success. Maxwell offers 12 decisions and disciplines - he calls it his daily dozen - that can be learned and mastered by any person to achieve success.

Quite a good book. I think it is pretty easy to digest. The concepts discussed in the book are simple, yet they are exposed in such a way that they ring bells in ideas that should have been obvious, but they were not. It is also entertaining and funny. I recommend taking the time to read it.

Yet another great read, and reference tool. I follow John C. Maxwell and take up virtual mentor-ship from the materials he writes. Its all some of us have! I practice my daily dozens daily and work each day using some of the strategies he mentioned in this and some of his other titles. I definitely recommend adding this title to your reading collection for a future revisits.

It is very well planned and written book. Author own voice narrated it awesomely and wonderfully. 12 daily doubles are so touched us every day but we never recognise them. Author with his experience delicately dissected them and presented in a wonderful and easy way to understand by the readers and listeners. I would suggest every one should read or listen this book once.

The author nails it by provoking you to dig deep and realize what truly matters today must take priority. It teaches you how to organize your choices daily, which is fantastic because we get so caught up with the chaos of the day.

The writer admits early on in the book that he hoards snippets and it shows. Most of this book is a restatement of his central theme using different quotes and stories. Based around his "daily dozen," Maxwell urges that "The way you live your life today is preparing you for your tomorrow."

Each chapter is dedicated to a different focus. Maxwell explains how your decisions impact your life and gives suggestions on how to carefully craft your actions in the present to create your future. For example, in the chapter on attitude, he suggests monitoring your attitude at the start of a task, creating a vision to achieve happiness, choosing and displaying the right attitude every day and having the attitude of the person you want to become.

Each chapter has a number of headings followed by some text. If you want just the meat from the book, you could read only the headings. The supporting text is mainly anecdotal stories and inspirational quotes. Of most value are the reflective questions and exercises that end each chapter. I see how these could be useful in a coaching conversation so I'll be keeping this book around for reference and inspiration.

Maxwell's book, especially the first first four chapters, are well worth the price of the book. I read Today Matters at a time when I was deep into procrastination and those chapters had an immediate impact on me. I've been busy ever since. I highly recommend Today Matters.
