About this audiobook
Meet Petunia.
More than anything, Petunia wants a pet.
“I’ll feed my pet every day,” she promises her parents.“I’ll take her for walks. I’ll read stories to her and draw her pictures.”
Petunia knows she can take care of a pet, but what happens when the pet she most desires is a skunk?

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This is a super cute book about a little girl who is really wanting a pet skunk. Her parents tell her no and the reason she can't have one is because they STINK!! The little girl gets really upset and runs into the woods and says If I get eaten by a bear I bet then I could have a skunk. Well she runs into a skunk on the trail and she finally smells what a skunk smells like. I was thinking when she ran back home to her room it was because of the smell of the skunk but surprise she brought the skunk home with her. My personal reaction to this book is the little girl is a little rude to her parents but she really wants a pet. We all know how kids can be when they are determined to get something. A classroom extension could be the students could write about their favorite pet and draw it or write and draw about a pet that they would love to have.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Charming and fun.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Yes, it's adorable. And yes, SKUNKS! But I'm going to go a step farther and say that this book has the kind of instantly iconic art that kids born today will be tattooing on themselves in 18 years. My prediction: new classic.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Cutest skunk you will ever see - no wonder Petunia wants one for a pet!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Petunia wants a pet skunk. Desperately. But her parents refuse. They tell her that skunks stink. Petunia is so angry that she sets off into the woods to get a skunk for herself. She finds a skunk and he sprays Petunia. The skunk does stink. Petunia returns home to her stuffed pet skunk. And then she decides she wants a pet porcupine.“Petunia likes skunks. No, that’s not exactly right.Petunia loves skunks.‘They have cute little noses. They have big black eyes. They’re black and white and they have STRIPES!’Petunia tells anyone who will listen just how perfectly awesome skunks are.”
