- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This collection of poems, written by Judy Sierra, allows you to explore the life of an emperor penguin, which lives in Antarctica. The poems provide the reader with information on the penguins life cycle, habitats, eating habits, mating rituals, and predators they face. Finding new ways to share important information is what keeps things inside the classroom interesting. This collection of poems helps to do just that. The children will love reading the fun and entertaining poems, while they learn important facts about the arctic penguins.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I really liked this book because of the illustrations and content of the book. The illustrations in this book were colorful and enjoyable too look at. They added interest to the poems and made it easy to understand. The book was a series of poems that talked about the life of a penguin in Antarctica. Even though the poems were written from the point of view of the penguin it was informative because it told the whole life of a penguin from when it is born, the types of predators it has, and how they find mates. For example, “What’s black and white and mean all over? A mighty swimmer, a restless rover. He looks like a fish from head to tail. But he isn’t a fish, he’s a killer whale!” This book is a fun way to students to get the information they need on penguins. The big idea of this book was to inform students about penguins in a fun way.
