About this audiobook

#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER

Hailed as "the reigning queen of women's fiction" (The Sacramento Bee), Debbie Macomber is renowned for her novels of love, friendship, and the promise of fresh starts. Now Macomber returns to the charming Rose Harbor Inn, where each guest finds a second chance and every room comes with an inspiring new view.

Since moving to Cedar Cove, Jo Marie Rose has truly started to feel at home, and her neighbors have become her closest friends. Now it's springtime, and Jo Marie is eager to finish the most recent addition to her inn. In memory of her late husband, Paul, she has designed a beautiful rose garden for the property and enlisted handyman Mark Taylor to help realize it. She and Mark don't always see eye-to-eye-and at times he seems far removed-yet deep down, Jo Marie finds great comfort in his company. And while she still seeks a sense of closure, she welcomes her latest guests, who are on their own healing journeys.

Annie Newton arrives in town to orchestrate her grandparents' fiftieth wedding anniversary celebration. While Annie is excited for the festivities, she's struggling to move on from her broken engagement, and her grandparents themselves seem to be having trouble getting along. Worse, Annie is forced to see Oliver Sutton, with whom she grew up and who has always mercilessly teased her. But the best parties end with a surprise, and Annie is in for the biggest one of all.

High-powered businesswoman Mary Smith, another Rose Harbor Inn guest, has achieved incredible success in her field, yet serious illness has led her to face her sole, lingering regret. Almost nineteen years ago, she ended her relationship with her true love, George Hudson, and now she's returned to Cedar Cove to make amends.

Compassion and joy await Jo Marie, Annie, and Mary as they make peace with their pasts and look boldly toward their futures. Rose Harbor in Bloom is Debbie Macomber at her heartwarming best.

Second book in this series and I'm really addicted to it. Stayed up way too late into the night reading. The Inn and Jo Marie are simply love able. I also like Mark even though he's got that rough mysterious bit about him. Can't wait to dive into the next book!

So many books to read by Debbie, I loved this addition. I purchase them and then pass them to my sister, her daughter and then her daughter, so I guess you can say we are hooked. I love stories that seem like real people and Debbie has a way of writing that makes me feel as if you are there.

I'm very much enjoying Debbie Macomber's new Rose Harbor series. It takes a little getting used to having the center location of the book revolve around guests in a B&B in Cedar Cove but I like that there's still a little of Cedar Cove and it's characters to enjoy. I am looking forward to see how the relationship between Jo Marie and Mark evolves. Very satisfying read.

I love reading Debbie Macomber. I know I am going to get a clean, sweet romance. But her books are much more than that. In every one of Debbie's books there is an object lesson or a real life experience we can relate to. I also like the way beliefs and Christianity is there but not in your face, for the readers out there that have a problem with that. I think they too can enjoy her novels.

What can I say?? It's Debbie Macomber and it's Cedar Cove.....how can it possibly be anything other than wonderful! I say this because Debbie is one of my favorite authors, and I was thrilled that I won a copy of Rose Harbor in Bloom through the Goodreads Giveaway. I want to thank the author and publisher for the chance to receive the book for review. I also enjoyed the Cedar Cove dvd as well.
I can always count on a great story whenever I pick up a book by Debbie Macomber - I honestly can't say that I have ever read a book of hers that I didn't like. This is the first book that I have read in the Rose Harbor Inn Series, and although it was the second book, it still made a great stand-alone story. I am looking forward to reading all of them.
I can't tell you how much I have enjoyed this book. It has all the right ingredients to insure a story that you just don't want to put down. It is a tale of loss, love, and healing. And about second chances and hope. All this in a beautiful setting with down-to-earth characters that make you feel like you've known them forever. Debbie gives us people that we come to care about, who are dealing with the same type of things that we do. That is why I love her writing so much. It is embracing and comforting......every time I open one of her books I feel like I am visiting friends. It takes a good writer to do that. This was such an endearing story. I loved every second of it!

I'm not much of a romance genre fan, but this was enjoyable. I saw the author at a conference, and she was a delightful speaker. I got a few of her books...I think they'll all be similar, feel-good light reads, and that's a good thing!

This is the second reading of this book, I think. while it didn't seem like it. I've read others in the series. This was one of my mother-in-law copies. I voluntarily chose to review this .clean story. I've given it a 5*. I enjoy this author's work. It leaves me with a good feeling at the end. This was read out of order and it didn't give me that same feeling but never the less, it was very good. I just enjoy the characters throughout the story. There was a lot to keep me turning the page

I received this ARC from NetGalley to read and review.

Second book in Debbie Macomber new series The Inn at Rose Harbor
A spin-off series from her popular Cedar Cove series.

Wonderful addition to the Debbie Macomber collection. This is the second book in this Rose Harbor Series by Debbie Macomber.
Rose Harbor in Bloom.(Rose Harbor #2).
The Inn at Rose Harbor (Rose Harbor #1) by Debbie Macomber

A great addition to Debbie Macomber's easy reading novels about family and friendships in a small town.
This new addition is a spin-off of sorts from her hugely popular Cedar Cove series which is now televised on Hallmark Channel. The characters at Rose Harbor are as friendly and hospitable as their neighbors in Cedar Cove. The setting revolves around a newly widowed woman who pours all her energy into the Inn which she was supposed to run with her husband. The interesting characters who come by for a visit are sure to delight.

The story continues with Jo Marie putting the final touches on the Inn with help from a handyman who doesn't like to talk about himself much. Although she finds him incorrigible at times, they seem to enjoy each other's company. A friendship appears to be in bloom at Rose Harbor Inn.

If you enjoy Debbie Macomber, this book will not disappoint. A great storyline (The Rose Harbor Inn is a place to heal). In this second installment in the series we find Jo Marie still not sure if her husband is really dead. The military have contacted her that they have found 5 of the 6 bodies from the helicopter crash and will need to test DNA. Her guests this time around include a woman with cancer who left the man she loved in Seattle many years before, a couple celebrating their 50th anniversary, who bicker with one another non-stop, and their granddaughter who has planned a party weekend for them. Also a gentleman she grew up with who drove her grandparents to the inn just to add a little spice. There is also the handiman neighbour who seems to be grouchy, but could he and Jo Marie become a couple down the road? The regular Cedar Cove inhabitants also make an appearance. A fun, easy read that ends happily.

I'm not sure what was expected from a well known Romance author like Debbie Macomber, but this book provided some pretty well worn stereotype characters and a cranky predictable plot. The dialogue was similarly uninspiring, with little humor and lots of repetition.

Debbie has written another enjoyable book and for us Cedar Cove fans we got to 'see' a few of our favorites as well.

This is the second book in the series but if you didn't read the first you will not be lost reading this as a stand alone.

Jo Marie opened the inn in the first book, so this book was the setting of the second set of guests to arrive at the inn and what I love is that we already know who will be the next visitors to the B and B that we will read about.

This is the story of Mary and George, the growing friendship of Jo Marie and Mark, Rover and a 50 anniversary party.

Rose Harbor In Bloom is the second in a series but it could definitely be read as a stand alone if necessary. I find myself comparing it to the TV series The Love Boat. Not because it takes place on a cruise ship but because each book tells the stories of a couple of guests, as well as furthering the story of Jo Marie, the innkeeper. The books are sweet and charming. The characters all have interesting back-stories and Jo Marie's story was heart breaking. While my tastes have moved from the sweet and sappy love stories, I still enjoy them every now and then. I like this series and will continue them in the future.

Jo Marie Rose is the owner of the Inn at Rose Harbor. This novel follows her story as she comes to grips with her husband who was lost in Afghanistan as well as the stories of the inn's guests. Those guests include Annie and her grandparents, who are celebrating their 50th anniversary. They also include Mary, who is battling cancer and her undying love for the "one that got away." As the manager of a public library, I see Debbie Macomber's books circulating in and out every day. People love them. I finally decided to see for myself what all the fuss was about. I was pleasantly surprised. This was a nice, "clean," quick read that left me feeling good at the end. I'm usually an urban fantasy/paranormal romance reader, so this was quite a bit tamer than what I'm used to. This books dealt with so many emotional issues. I did find Mary and George's story to be the most unrealistic, but it was still bitter sweet. The whole book took me about 2 hours to read straight through. I'm not going to run out and read every Debbie Macomber book, but if I'm looking for a good, quick read that I don't mind other people (like my grandmother) reading over my shoulder with, I would pick up another one.

I received Rose Harbor in Bloom from NetGalley in exchange for a review. Debbie Macomber's books are sweet, easy to read, and they have a peace about them. I enjoyed the first book in the series very much, and I did enjoy reading this as well. It was a simple, uncomplicated story -several stories in one, in fact. I did, however, not love this as much as I have loved other books by this author. It was a bit predictable, and I found that many of the story lines repeated facts and situations again and again; I found it a struggle to actually finish reading it, rather than the normal lost-in-the story I can often achieve. The ending came before I realized it, and it is open ended; I assume this is in order to pave the way for the next installment. Still, the ending felt rushed, despite the fact some of the story lines dragged a bit for me. All in all, it is a simple, light read, and fans of Debbie's books will appreciate it.

Jo Marie's guests for this installment include a woman with stage 3 cancer who has traveled across the country when she has little strength and a family in which the grandparents are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. Jo Marie is hoping to get her roses planted before the open house, but her handyman Mark doesn't seem to be in any hurry to get the job done. She also receives word that the military is now able to access the area where her husband's plane went down to retrieve the bodies. The characters in this installment are well-drawn. I absolutely loved the grandparents who were bickering with one another. The woman with cancer also had an interesting story and reason for being in Cedar Cove. I enjoyed seeing the characters of Jo Marie and Mark grow in this series, particularly Jo Marie as she coped with a wide range of emotions, relating to her husband's "disappearance." This review is based on an uncorrected proof provided by the publisher through LibraryThing's Early Reviewer program with the expectation that a review would be written.

Although I haven't read anything from Debbie Macomber in many years, I was looking forward to reading her works again. I wasn't disappointed. A good, light "feel good" summer read that will take you to the town of Cedar Cove and introduce you to it's residents and the guests of Rose Harbor Inn. I look forward to reading the next novel with the new incoming guests and their stories.

The book is beautiful from start to end.The living city characters are always great, but guests who come and go give the special touch.Nobody is perfect. All wounds have to be healed. The pace of the story is good and not get bored because guests usually only stay for the weekend. This means that in about 3 days you got everything sorted.Your emotions will leap in joy to sadness, anger to the expectation and peace. And the end always leaving room for new guests arrive and with them, new dramas to be occupied and healed.

I couldn't put it down.JoMarie's B&B is going to be full just in time for her Open House. Trying to get the rose hedge finished in time is spoiled when her handyman breaks his leg but that doesn't mean that JoMarie can't please her guests. Annie Newton has booked rooms for her grandparents who are returning to Cedar Cove to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. Annie's been planning the party but runs into a few unexpected and possibly disastrous issues. In the meantime, JoMarie's other guest, Mary Smith, is very quiet and reserved. Could it have something to do with her fragility and lack of hair perhaps? This book very much like the first in the series shows the reader several different storylines (including one for JoMarie herself) and yet weaves it so masterfully together so that going from one to the other appears seamless and never interrupts the story itself. I couldn't put it down! The characters were so real - Annie's grandparents reminded me so much of my own parents - always bickering but underneath loving each other unconditionally. And Mary Smith- you think with a name like that the character would be flat but no, she grabbed me and held on tight right to end.Absolutely tremendous!

Advanced Reader Copy Macomber delivers up great characters and storyline with the warmth we've come to expect. Rose Harbor is quaint town similar to those in Macombers other northwestern settings. Predictable, but in a good way, like coming home.

This is the second book in the Rose Harbor series and it continues the story of Jo Marie Ross who opens a bread and breakfast in Cedar Cove after the death of her husband. The book tells the stories of several of the people who come to stay at her inn as well as what is going on the Jo Marie's life. Its a great way to introduce new characters plus Debbie gives us a look back at some of her previous Cedar Cove series characters. I am really enjoying this series and the way that the author is introducing new people into it. Its a great summer read and I highly recommend it.

I really enjoyed the characters and their story lines. The Cedar Cove continuing characters were fun to see again. Hoping there will be more interaction with Mark Taylor the handyman in the next book. I felt he was a little neglected this time. Looking forward to more arrivals at the Inn!! Very readable and couldn't put the book down.

My rating: 5 of 5 starsRose Harbor in Bloom written by Debbie Macomber is a Ballantine publication was released in August of 2013. Set in Cedar Cove, Jo Marie has settled in to running the Inn at Rose Harbor. It's been a year since Jo Marie lost her husband ,Paul, when his helicopter crashed in Afghanistan. Although, he was presumed dead, his body was never found and Jo Marie held out hope that somehow, some way, Paul is still alive. In the meantime, Jo Marie has a house full of guest, a 50th wedding celebration and an open house to get ready for. Her handy man, Mark, was supposed to have the rose garden ready for the open house, but it became clear to Jo Marie that he wasn't going to make it in time. So, she starts work on it herself, only to have Mark get bent out of shape over it, which lead to an even sillier argument. Mark up and quit and now Jo Marie feels out of sorts about it. As her guest begin to arrive, Jo Marie welcomes Mary, a cancer patient. Mary has some things she needs to make peace with now that she is fighting for her life. One of those things is contacting her old love, George. The two of them parted ways eighteen years ago, but never stopped loving each other. Could they ever overcome the hurdles that kept them apart in the first place? Kent and Julie are celebrating fifty years of wedded bliss. Their granddaughter has booked a party in their honor and the couple will renew their vows. (Awwhhh) Annie is Kent and Julie's granddaughter. She recently broke off her engagement to Lenny after finding out he cheated on her a second time. When she shows up at the Inn and finds out that her grandparents neighbor, when she was a teenager, drove her grandparents to Cedar Cove and plans to stay for the party, she is angry and flustered. Oliver was the first boy Annie ever kissed. But, he ruined it by being a jerk afterwards. Annie never trusted him again. Oliver is the last person, next to Lenny, she ever wanted to see again. To make matters much worse, Kent and Julie are bickering non stop. If this wasn't enough to keep Jo busy, she gets a very disturbing phone call explaining that the helicopter Paul was in, has been found, but one of the bodies is missing. Could there be the slightest hope that Paul survived the crash? With her trusty companion, Rover, Jo deals with Mark's up and down personality, the dread of finding out Paul is without a doubt gone, and with her odd assortment of guest. The story of Mary and George is the most emotional, of course. Mary doesn't really have a definite prognosis, so we can only hope she is able to fight the disease and beat it. But, for the time being a very big part of her life that she had to make peace with is accomplished with the help of George. Once that is done, Mary must decide what her future will hold with or without George. Oliver is a little bit awkward with Annie. Cocky one minute, sweet the next, but clueless and hopeless the next. He's loved Annie since they were teenagers, but she can't get past the memory of Oliver as a teen ,unable to handle his feelings for Annie. But, as they spent more time together, the less off putting Oliver becomes. But the anniversary couple looks like they be headed for trouble if something doesn't happen soon. This story was cute, sweet, and had one the funniest moments in the book, thanks to something Kent says. Mark is an enigma. We don't know why he is the way he is, but I have a feeling we will find out more about Mark in the future. In the meantime, Mark has found a friend in Jo Marie and she has found one in him, which is a great start. I haven't read much women's fiction until about a year ago. I always thought of it was too emotional, sappy, and I HATE tearjerkers. But, I have discovered that isn't always the case. Debbie Macomber is one of the very best in this genre. Yes, there are emotional, real life issues in the story, but there was also a lot of humor, and the story always ends on a positive note. I can handle that. I don't hand out five star ratings too often, but this one had me involved from the beginning. I read several books at once, usually, and I just kept coming back to this one to see what would happen next. You can't go wrong with this one. A+ Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the DRC of this book.

I absolutely loved the first Rose Harbor B&B story from Debbie Macomber but found this second one to be tough to get into. Eventually, it finally grabbed me and I was glad I stuck with it because, in the end, I loved it.Jo Marie, the B&B proprietor is still dealing with the death of her husband in a crash in the Afghanistan mountains. In this second Rose Harbor book, a young woman is planning her grandparents' 50th anniversary party while getting reacquainted with the guy next door. Another guest is a cancer patient who travels back to the Pacific Northwest to talk to the only love of her life, a man she hasn't seen in years.Macomber is a great storyteller and this one, once again, does not disappoint. A very enjoyable and heartwarming story.

I have been reading Debbie Macomber's work for years. I absolutely adored her Cedar Cove series and have enjoyed watching the character come to life on screen with the Hallmark series. So when I seaw that she had created yet another series set in one of my favorite places to visit, Cedar Cove, I could not wait to start reading. I just finished Rose Harbor in Bloom, the second book in her new Rose Harbor series. I have to say it is classic Debbie Macomber work, I couldn't bring myself to set this book down for long.I immensely enjoyed meeting Jo Marie Rose and visiting her Bed and Breakfast. She has a lot going on in her life since her husband was killed. I admired her strength and courage, as well as her warm heart. She has been through a lot and has managed to run a business that requires a lot of compassion and care to run. She has a special talent of making her guests feel at home.In this story we meet Mary who is facing health issues as well as some things from her past. Mary is strong, courageous and not willing to let her illness get her down. I enjoyed reading her story. I'm not going to tell you anymore than that, I will tell you that her story is very emotional. Annie and her Grandparents also have a nice story to tell. Annie's grandparents are celebrating their 50th anniversary and they are quite the pair. They were a lot of fun to read about. I found myself laughing at some of the scenes. Annie is dealing with the loss of a broken engagement and it doesn't help matters any when an old family friend shows up for the party. However there is some unexplored feelings between Oliver and Annie. I hope we hear more about them in the next book in the series. Then there is Mark the handyman, Mark I believe is dealing with issues from his past but we don't know what that is yet. Mark has something unexpected happen in this story but once again I'm not going to tell you anymore then that, you are going to have to read it for yourself.I had a wonderful visit in Cedar Cove and loved that we get a few glimpses of the characters from the beloved Cedar Cove series. I have not had a chance to read the first book in this series but I didn't find I had any problem being completely absorbed in this story. I would, however, love to read The Inn at Rose Harbor and I will be looking forward to Ms. Macomber's next release as always.I was lucky enough to receive a copy of this book to read and share my thoughts with you.

Another of Debbie's books that drew me in, and I didn't want to leave. It is almost like I live in Cedar Cove.Jo-Marie now has her Inn up and running, with a lot of help from grumpy Mark, Jack of all trades and major fixer. After a phone call she is now hanging on to a hope that her husband Paul, may still be alive??We meet Annie who is here to put on a wonderful 50th anniversary celebration for her Grandparents. Who brings them...oh no. It's that horrible next door neighbor who pick on her terribly as a child and teen. She wants nothing to do with him. She is also just broken her engagement..for the second time to Lenny, a cheating man. Lets hope she doesn't go back to him.We also meet Mary, who came from New York City for the weekend. A far trip for a woman under cancer treatments. Why would she risk her health to come so far for so little time?? There are answers here.We also find out about some of the folks that we met in the first book, and have meetings with some of our old Cedar Cove friends. Love it!!Cozy up for a wonderful read and kind of a reunion to the fantastic town of Cedar Cove.I received this book through Edelweiss Reviewer Program, and was not required to give a positive review.

This book continues from where Debbie Macomber left off in the previous book - The Inn at Rose Harbor. Jo Marie is continuing to work on her B & B, and her guests provide the stories for this series. Annie plans a wonderful vow-renewing ceremony and party to celebrate her grandparents 50th anniversary. Mary comes to the inn in spite of the disapproval of her oncologist hoping to repair some decisions she made years earlier. Jo Marie is planning her official Open House for the inn and must deal with news of her late husband's death. Those are the main story lines without giving away any of the details that Macomber is famous for. I have read nearly all of Debbie's books and own a few that I reread regularly. If you like her other writing, you will enjoy this new series, too.

Rose Harbor in Bloom picks up fairly soon after Macomber's first story at the bed and breakfast. Jo Marie is still waiting for handyman Mark's pursuit of perfection in his steady pace of working on her rose garden. Her inn in this story will be the site of a renewal of vows for one couple, and another more mysterious guest, named Mary Smith. As usual, Macomber sets a very pleasant tone as she shifts chapters between the three women characters. I am always impressed with her ability to tell the tale regardless of the age of the character, all of the voices sound true. Visits from a few of the Cedar Cove regulars are fun, and I think rescue dog Rover deserves some good praise as well. This is a great read to wind down summer.
