About this audiobook
Meeting Jett was like lightning. Dangerous. Better left untouched. And better forgotten. But lightning always strikes twice.
Brooke Stewart, a realtor in New York, doesn't do relationships. When she's sent to a remote estate to finalize a real estate deal, she discovers her new boss is none other than the guy she left naked in bed.
Sexy, dangerously handsome, and arrogant Jett Mayfield attracts trouble, and women, like a lightning rod. But the night he meets Brooke he gets more than he bargained for. The green-eyed millionaire playboy isn't used to taking no for an answer, and he isn't about to start now.
When he proposes two months of no-strings sex, Brooke is intrigued and accepts his proposal. Little does she know that Jett is determined to claim the one woman he can't have.

- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5This one was okay... I finished it, but kind of lost interest about halfway through
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Story was good, easy, interesting, but not challenging. This is the first audio book I've listened to narrated by Romy Nordinger. While she did a fine job in pace, tone, voices for characters, etc, her voice is not a good fit with a 23-year old character. Ms Nordinger's voice is somewhat gravelly in sound and, to my ears, didn't sound like the youthful voice of a 23 year old. I wouldn't turn away a book because of her narrating, but I think this isn't a best-fit scenario.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5I really didn't like this series...
So much so that, for this book I pretty much read only every other page. I skimmed so much of it that basically I only read half the book. And, book 2 was so bad I ended up giving up on it about 34% into it - having skim read even that.
I'll start by pointing out the good aspects...
and there were a couple (literally). The writing style was good (well, mostly). It read like a good book, only it wasn't! And it had a fairly complex plot (for this type of book).
Now, on to why I wanted to give it NO stars...
To start, we have the HIGHLY typical cope-out of the author telling us how a character is , then having them behave in a completely contradictory manor. Then telling us this was rare. Well, not from the viewers' (readers') perspective!
I'll give you an example...
this book tells us how UNcommon it is for the heroine to drink. Saying things like, "she never drinks more than a glass or two, and even that infrequently." And yet in the first WEEK or two she's shit faced drunk THREE TIMES!!! So drunk that, on the first occasion she can't recollect how she ended up in bed with the 'enemy'. And on two occasions she can't even remember how she got her drunk ass home.
Just because you TELL us something...
doesn't make us believe it! Just because the author states the character doesn't often drink, doesn't make me think 'oh, this must be unusual for her' when she's wasted off her ass night after partying night. I need to SEE for myself that she's not usually like this. I need prior examples, to have some experiences depicted where she was a responsible adult before throwing me into her alcoholic daze so that I can come to the conclusion myself that she's not a lush or a moron, because quite frankly, I didn't care how many times the author mentioned how rare this party-girl behavior was, from my viewpoint she was CONSTANTLY parting and getting plastered.
Then we have how the book reads like...
you reentered a room you'd just stepped out of only to find the conversation continued while you were gone. Throughout this book I felt like I'd missed parts of the story or the plot! One minute we're at this point, then the next sentence we're somewhere else entirely! I HATED that.
And don't even get me started about...
how often she went on about how fucking hot this guy was. EVERY SINGLE time she looked at him, off she'd go about how gorgeous he was. I get the fucking point! The more I read about it, the less sexy he became to me! By the end of the book I didn't give a shit he was sexy, MOVE ON! I thought I'd vomit if I had to read one more of her looped thoughts, or hear her talk about, how hot the guy was.
And then we have the insta-love...
and how much she cared about this guy (after a week). Why? Who knows, we're only told that she does! She doesn't SHOW, she TELLS (ad nauseam)! There was no interaction depicted! Only some fucking and some drinking and a few moments of conversation! Yet she's in love?
But, the very worst for me was the 'BFF'...
In all the books I've read like this (and I'm embarrassed to say it's a few) this is one of the most disgusting best friends I've read about. A truly reprehensible character. A sulking lush with serious mental issues. And an unforgivably bad influence!! Best friend my ass!!!! And the book goes on and on about how much the girl loves and cares about the heroine, and always has her back... WHAT??? In all of book one, and into book two, she was absolutely NOTHING but trouble and repulsive.
I was going to give the books 2 stars...
after I finished it, simply because it was written well enough that I can see the author has potential, but than I decided I really hated almost every single thing about this book, and 2 stars was just too many! - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5In love with Jett! But to end on a cliffhanger :-( Off to see when the next one comes out. Can't wait for more!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I Loved the characters in this book . The story line was Good , But I felt it was a little rushed and that kinda bothered me. It even bothered me more when I got to the end and I had not had the whole story and semi got left hanging, Because there is a book two coming with Jett & Brooke's story continuing in Conquer Your Love ..
Jessica knows how to write a story and pull you right in for sure , I read this in under 3 hrs. I wish though that there had been more to the book , If it was going to be continued to a book 2 then there should of been more detail in this book .
It surely left me dying to know what is going to become of Brooke and Jett . I hope that Jett has not done the unthinkable and I hope that Brooke can see what he did to protect her and move forward with him , BUT I don't know the whole story yet either , so I can't hope for an HEA yet I don't think.

thank you so much Jessica for the opportunity to read and review this book and I can't wait to see the outcome of Brooke and Jett !!!! - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5It was really amazing!!Jett is so original in everything he does and that makes him stand out from other male leading characters..It sure as hell doesn't prepare us for what's about to come in the end of the book..Brooke is feisty, passionate, determined and has this standoff attitude that makes her adorable..Yet,she lets her guard down..And what woman wouldn't?..We're talking about Jett here..Surrender your love is about letting your doubts and fears go away, allowing your walls to come down and give your heart to somebody else even though you've seen the hurt love can cause..It's about surrendering yourself..It's well written and the characters are promising an exciting sequel..And no they do not disappoint in "Conquer your love"..
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Game, Set, MatchJett doesn't know the meaning of no and Brooke does her best to teach him it. However neither of them is going down without a fight and in the game of love its anyone's game. This is a fast paced romance with tough heroine's, annoyingly sexy hero's, and some great action. New York was the perfect setting for these two character's and really matched there stubborn attitudes. My favorite part of the book was the steamy and sometimes hilarious banter between these two. I always like a good battle of wits. The romance itself was nicely paced and believable. There was definitely some chemistry between Jett and Brooke and it practically sizzled of the pages.Brooke isn't one for permanent relationships. She is a fun, smart, and independent heroine that knew how to get things done. I really liked her and felt that she was a perfect match for Jett.Jett has a similar personality to Brooke and yet from the moment he meets her he knows he has met his match. He is charming and witty, especially with Brooke. Jett is a bit stubborn, but it proves to be a benefit when it comes to Brooke. I really enjoyed seeing how he went about wooing Brooke. For a fast paced romance and some fun banter check out Surrender Your Love!
