About this audiobook

#1 New York Times bestselling author Christine Feehan delivers her most eagerly awaited novel of all in "the erotic, gripping series that has defined an entire genre" (J. R. Ward).

He is Carpathian. Ancient and unassailable. She is human. Young and vulnerable. Without her, he will not survive. Caught between two warring species, Dimitri has spent centuries hunting the undead to keep his people free and humans safe. He has survived honorably when others have chosen to give up their souls. Now, marked for extermination by the Lycans, Dimitri finds himself alone, and fearing for his life. But salvation is coming…

No Lycan would ever suspect someone like Skyler to dare mount a secret rescue operation. A teenage girl. A human of untested abilities. But she has something no one else does. She is predestined for Dimitri-as he is for her. And there is nothing stronger for Skyler than her desire to see her life-dream come true. Whatever the risk.

Skyler is determined to save the life of her lifemate. When suddenly one day, with their strong connection, she senses incredible pain from him, and then senses nothing. Then she learns that he has been kidnapped by the lycans, but the leaders of the Carpathians refuse to tell her anything, so she decides to take matters in her own hands. If no one will save him, then she certainly will. With the aid of her two closest friends Josef and Paul, who will do everything they can to save his life. Even though Skler is only nineteen, emotionally she is much older than that. She has suffered more abuse and pain than most could even imagine. Dimitri is her lifemate, and over the years since she first met him, he has been her rock and foundation. They have formed such a strong bond that even amazes most Carpathian couples. Now that Dimitri is in trouble, Skler knows its up to her to get to him. No Lycan would dare suspect a innocent girl to mount a rescue operation. Skyler is willing to risk everything to have Dimitri fully in her life, no matter the cost....Dark Wolf is the most recent addition to the Carpathian or also known as "Dark" series. Now some have given up on this series, or moved on to other authors, however I haven't. There is something genuine, creative and unique about Feehan's writing and the worlds that she creates. Ever since "Dark Legend" when we first see Skyler, I have kept a eye out for her. There has always been something about her characters that has strung me along. Dark Wolf is a story that I have been waiting years for. And now finally it has come, and I bought this book the first moment I could. And had the hardest time focusing on work, just wanting to get back to read Dark Wolf. The first half or even 3/4 is pretty intense and suspenseful and instantly grabs the attention of the reader. I literally had to use all my self control to put this one down. Its rare when I find a book that pulls me in so completely, I could care less about eating or working or living until I have read it!! LOL Lets just say this book just wasn't long enough. It ended way too soon for me.I have to say that after reading Dark Wolf, I am almost satisfied. About 90% of me is totally well satisfied as a cat with a bowl of cream with how this story turned out. I loved seeing Skler grow and develop in this story. My main problem was I felt her growth happened way too quickly from who she was at the beginning of the book. I did enjoy seeing Skyer a young woman who has suffered many horrors, gather her strength to save the one man she loves more than life itself. She goes behind her parents back (whom she adores almost more than anything). And of course we see Josef and Paul. Now Josef, oh boy, I do hope he gets his own book. I know he is still very young, but we so much of him and Paul in this one, that you find yourself fascinated with this characters, more than ever before. This trio are as alike as they are different. They are pretty much inseparable, and somehow Dimitri is fine with Skyler have a close relationship with the two. (which pretty much wowed me considering how Alpha male Dimitri is). One of my favorite parts of this story is seeing these three young trio accomplish things that most adult Carpathians would have a hard time doing. There was quite a bit of action, you might have to tie yourself to your seat or the couch, or the bed, or wherever you may be reading. There is quite a high level of intensity, that will definitely give you chills (but in a very good way) Dark Wolf is a magical story of doing the impossible to save the one you love more than anything. A tale of sacrifice, devotion, passion and a powerful love story to make you feel as if you are falling in love for the first time. TRULY MAGNIFICENT!!! If you have been waiting for Dimitri and Skylers story....GET IT NOW!!! You won't be disappointed.

I loved the narrators, I think they did a wonderful job. The stories just keep getting better and better. I can't wait to read Zev's storyline.

Complete disappointment. Christine Feehan's writing style has completely changed and I am no longer enamored. I have been waiting for this book for so long because Skyler and Dmitri were my favorite couple. There was unnecessary chapters and he wasn't even rescued until the seventh chapter. I basically only enjoyed 4 chapters:13-17. What a let down. Her last few books were dumb, yet she succeeded with Zacarias' novel. What a shame. Alas, hopefully Zev and Branislava's book will be better, but I doubt it.

Where "Dark Laycan" ended, "Dark Wolf" begins. Dmitri is in the custody of the Lycans and is being tortured for being a mixed blood. None of the Carpathians can find him. In fact, Skyler doesn’t even think they are looking. So she teams us with her friends Josef and Paul for a rescue mission.

Get ready to be sucked into a world of magic, loyalty and a love to last a lifetime or two! This is the most anticipated story in Christine Feehan's Dark series. I was not disappointed. I loved watching Skyler and Dimitri's story grow over the years while I read other Carpathian stories. Christine Feehan did an amazing job bringing their story to life.

Watch for "Dark Blood" in September of 2014 to find out more of Zev's story.

The twenty-fifth book in the Dark series is an action packed and intriguing read.Human and vulnerable, Skylar Daratrazanoff, has always recognized the miracle that is the ancient hunter, Dimitri Tirunul, a carparthian who has been marked for death by the Lycans. As his destined lifemate, Skylar has the ability to find where the Lycans have imprisoned him and of course they would never suspect a young teenage girl to attempt to rescue the ancient guardian. This fast plot keeps the readers on the edge of their seat with lots of action and suspense. The author brings the story to life with vivid descriptions that make the reader feel as if they are part of the story and the wonderful and compelling characters are easily related to and grab the reader’s attention. The attraction between Skylar and Dimitri is red hot and sizzling and the sex scenes are scorching hot, but the relationship between them is one made of legends in this world. Dimitri has lived with the darkness for centuries waiting for the chance to claim his lifemate, but he waited and was very patient with the young Skylar. He loved and protected her from a distance to give her the time she needed to be able to accept him as her mate. Skylar gives new meaning to the words overcoming adversity she beat all the odds and survived a horrific past to become a strong and worthy mate for such a warrior. The author created this mesmerizing world of vampires that has evolved to be so much more, it is believable and just keeps getting more and more intriguing. I love all the wonderful characters and stories in the series so far and I love how all the characters remain a part of every story and conflict. The author manages to impart information in the stories that give the reader’s hints of what has been happening to each character personally so that they can stay up to date. Skylar and Dimitri’s story is one I have been waiting impatiently to read and I have to say that it is one of my favorites of the series. As always I will wait impatiently for the next one.

It’s finally Skyler’s turn. Now nineteen, she’s known for years that Dimitri is her lifemate, and thankfully he’s given her the support, encouragement and space she’s needed to mature and grow confident. And it’s a good thing they have such an incredibly close bond. Dimitri was kidnapped at the end of the last book by Lycans and no one can telepathically reach him or follow a trail. Skyler, with the help of her best friends Josef and Paul, are able to do what the warriors can’t. Skyler finally accepts her mage abilities and does the impossible to save her love. The series shifted direction with the last book, Dark Lycan, which introduced us to a sort of werewolf society. When enough Lycan and Carpathian blood get mixed, they become much stronger than either one alone. Years ago the Lycans were almost totally wiped out by one that went rogue and now will not tolerate the existence of anyone who has the possibility of becoming one. Dimitri is one and a group of Lycans use him as an excuse to start a war with the Carpathians while the Lycan Council is meeting Mikhail and a number of warriors from prior books. So many known characters are on hand which is something I enjoy. The author puts a great deal of effort into her stories. She’s got a Carpathian language and with help, put together a large number of poems that Skyler “makes up” to help her work mage magic. She’s also known for very realistic internal dialog where something could be hashed over in someone’s mind many, many times. All of this is great if you like that much detail, but for me it just makes the book too wordy. Under all of it I found an enjoyable story.Read from a library book.
