About this audiobook

Tanna Barker is a world champion barrel racer. But her personal life has been less of a success, and she's feeling adrift. After her mother's unexpected death, her father has remarried and sold the Texas ranch she called home. Now a rodeo injury has left the restless spitfire holed up in Muddy Gap, unsure what her next move should be.

Veterinarian August Fletcher has always put his job first. He's never found a woman who could handle his on-the-road lifestyle. But when sassy, sexy Tanna blows into town, he finally finds the woman of his fantasies. And there's something between them, but she claims she's been burned by love 'em and leave 'em road dogs before. How can Fletch prove that he's in it for the long haul, and that their sizzling relationship is better than winning any rodeo medal? It'll take some sweet persuasion to convince Tanna that Muddy Gap is where she belongs.

I received this book in the mail on a Saturday and I had it finished by Sunday afternoon. I love reading these modern day westerns and I am not sure why. This is the first book I have read in this series and I can't wait to check out the other books and also check out other books she has written. I loved her style of writing and how kept the book going while still having enough details and stuff like that to keep me hooked. I hoped that Tanna would end up with Fletch because they seemed perfect together. I also understood the fear that Tanna had about barrel racing and I was so proud of her in the end. I can't say more because it will give it away but I recommend this one 100%.

Lorelei James knows how to do Erotic Western Romances so as you could image "Turn and Burn" is another Fabulous book!
Fletch isn't your rancher cowboy but he's a cowboy nonetheless-and smoking hot too!
He just takes his work to the next level leaving no room for anything else.
Tanna is broken and needs a little help getting her life back on track.
She finds lots of friends to help her do just that in Muddy Gap. However Tanna's dream of getting back to barrel racing doesn't jive well with falling in love. Can Fletch and Tanna figure it out or with their job's tear them apart. Lots and lots of hot juicy sweaty sex.
    Fabulous ending.

Such a wonderful addition to the Blacktop Cowboys series! Tanna and Fletch are a couple to take note from. They are able to be in love and completely smitten with each other, without losing their own identities. The best part of the story is Fletch's determination and commitment to Tanna. He won't let her run away from her fears or from him. It was also great to catch up with all of the other heroes and heroines from previous books and see how their families and love have grown. Lorelei James has a penchant for creating worlds and characters that suck you in and you cannot wait to revisit. Tanna is my favorite type of heroine, she has no qualms about speaking her mind, and she does not just assume the worst and create a twist in the plot without an explanation. As for Fletch, he is one of those heroes that loves with his whole heart, and is completely dedicated to his work and friends. Fletch definitely makes my list of top book boyfriends of 2013. Turn and Burn is a definite must buy!Happy Reading!*ARC provided by Goodreads/Publisher in exchange for a honest review*

I have a whole host of Lorelei James books in my TBR pile. I have no idea why this is the first one I've read.

I really enjoyed the setting and the strong women showcased in the story. The heroine, her friends, and even the band of old women are independent amd not afraid to be themselves. That's so refreshing.

I also enjoyed the hero amd their romance. The witty banter and sexual chemistry kept the story moving. All in all a solid read. I'll be reading more of James soon.

I did not read the previous 4 books in the series, but I don't suppose that matters. A lot of them made an appearance in this book, so readers are updated on their "happily ever afters" and all their babies. I have to be honest. At first, I did not like Fletch at all. After Tanna agrees to a no- names one night stand with him, he gets all super douche on her and possessive. I mean, seriously dud, she didn't tell you her name and you AGREED to that. Then because you randomly felt something different (the guy is a self- proclaimed man- whore) you are willing to stalk her everywhere and be possessive in the hopes that she will sleep with you again because it was the greatest sex EVER. Now, call me a jerk, but he is not a very like able character- AT FIRST. He grew on me. He had to grow on Tanna, too, and I liked that a lot. She realized he was being a macho jerk at first. And he had to realize that he was being a complete ass- hat and take it down a notch or two. After that, the flirting and the friendship were cute. Tanna was majorly damaged for a good part of the book. I love her story from how she fell from being a spoiled rodeo star. She literally and figuratively "fell off you high horse". She openly admitted that she was ashamed of the person she was before she was forced to completely change her way of life. I LOVE that the book has so much more than just her and Fletch eye- banging each other. There is some real substance to go with the romance I love so much. (: It was a very sweet story and I love how Fletch progressed and became a more like-able person throughout the book. Tanna as well. Side note- I love the "Mud Lilies". They were hilarious. :D
