About this audiobook

You're alone. You're vulnerable. And you have something that someone else wants. At any cost.

Claudia Morgan-Brown finally has it all. Pregnant with a much-wanted first baby of her own, she has a happily established family of two small step-sons and a loving husband with a great career. But she is also committed to her full-time job as a social worker, and her husband travels often. So when Claudia hires Zoe to help her around the house in anticipation of the baby's arrival, it seems like the answer to her prayers. But despite Zoe's glowing recommendations and instant rapport with the children, there's something about her that Claudia cannot trust.

Moreover, there has been a series of violent attacks on pregnant women in the area, and Claudia becomes acutely aware of her vulnerability. With her husband out of town for work and her family far away, who will be there to protect her? And why does she feel unsettled about Zoe? Realizing appearances can be deceiving even in her seemingly perfect world, Claudia digs deeper into Zoe's blurry past and begins to wonder - how far would someone go to have a child of her own?

Riveting from its very first pages, Until You're Mine is a multilayered masterwork of twisted, psychological suspense. Readers of Before I Go to Sleep and Turn of Mind will be enthralled by this multilayered novel, featuring a twisted plot that ends in a breathtaking and shocking finale.

From my blogSome may remember the fascinating movie, The Hand that Rocks the Cradle, well Until You're Mine had the same suspenseful creepy feel, a great Psychological Thriller, I really enjoyed that. There were numerous background stories also which kept you slightly in mysterious mode trying to piece it all together and they tie in nicely.Someone is attacking pregnant women almost due in order to take their babies, brutal emotional murders. Note - if you have a history of failed pregnancies or wanting children but unable to have them, I would probably choose not to read this. I love that Samantha put the killer right in your face, this style made for a surprised ending. Unfortunately I didn't like the character so much by the end I didn't care about the surprise but very well crafted. There were so undertones that you picked up on. This is the emotional adult style of Jodi Picoult and Kristin Hannah she similar has that I enjoy. There was family drama, balance of working mom career mom and detective work. Also if you enjoyed Before I go to Sleep by S J Watson, you will enjoy this one.The characters were quite disturbing in this book which made it an edge of your seat read.Samantha Hayes has a way with pulling at your heart and feeling sorry for characters, she does good with building on their personalities and really setting the scenes. Until You're Mine is her 5th book.Tell-Tale - My favourite of hers, 5 star

This was an absolutely stunning read. A complex psychological thriller told from three different points of view, full of twists and turns. Well written and cleverly plotted book, in which you will constantly be trying to work things out in your head as you read on. It was a book that had me gripped from the prologue and left me so surprised by the outcome that I had to reread the ending. Marvelous ending!

Where to begin with this book....To begin with, I didn't fully trust anyone at the beginning, just because with mystery books it's always the person you least suspected or the "good" guy. But there was so many things that weren't what they seemed. Towards the middle I will admit that I did start trusting some people more than others, some rightly so, others wrongly so. Once everything was out on the table, I was surprised and shocked and speechless and sad and happy and angry. Basically I was on an emotional roller coaster that any good book should have you ride. And this book did just that!! The very last sentence left me aghast and with chills. Very creepy chills. All in all, I loved this book. Loved it!! Highly recommend it to anyone who wants to read a good roller coaster of a thrill ride!!

A schlocky domestic thriller featuring bad stunt writing in the service of a twist ending that plays on the reader's presumed prejudices - this is the kind of thing I usually enjoy as brainless beach reading, but this book was profoundly insulting to my intelligence.

This book was even better than I expected! There were so many great reveals at the end and none of them felt cheap or forced and it was fantastic. I had suspicions about what was really going on about 3/4 of the way through the book, but I was totally thrown off course until the very end. I'm tempted to go back and re-read the whole thing just to catch all the little clues sprinkled throughout.

    Strongly
Psychological thriller/mystery. Until You’re Mine will keep you thinking, predicting and in suspense right up to the very end of the book.

Claudia is the first character who has the perfect life. She has a fulfilling job as a social worker, she's happily married to James, a handsome and wealthy Naval officer, she is stepmother to twin boys and she's about to give birth to a much longed for daughter. The second character is Zoe Harper whom Claudia and James have hired as a nanny to look after their boys and assist with the baby. Zoe arrives with perfect references and is a natural with the children, but she is secretive about her past and seems to have an agenda of her own. Is Claudia right to be suspicious, or is it just the pregnancy hormones?

The third character is Detective Lorraine Fisher, who is one of the detectives investigating two brutal attacks on pregnant women that have gone unsolved at the time Claudia get's a visit from Detective Fisher. After the visit, DI Lorraine Fisher becomes convinced the attacks are linked to Claudia and Zoe, and she circles them both, determined to expose the connection.

The narrative fluctuates between first, second, and third-person, as well as present and past tense events. Some readers may get a bit confused at first but after the first couple of chapters it will all fit together on how the book is going to flow. I really had no difficulty in keeping track of the story line, so I am sure other readers will not as well.

I received a free copy of this book for my review from NetGalley Bloggers Review Program, for my honest unbiased opinion.

I got this book from Waterstone's to review and I'm very glad that I did.

It's hard to say much without giving to much away but this book takes you on a roller coaster of emotions as you live with these women and their family lives.

Claudia is pregnant with a much wanted child and step-mother to twin boys. Zoe is her new nanny employed to help with the impending arrival as Claudia's husband is away with the navy. Lorraine is the detective investigating attacks on pregnant women while coping with problems at home.

How they cope is written from their different and over-lapping stories is so well done that I had to remind myself that this is fiction as it reads so well.

I will look out for this author again.

Until You're Mine by Samantha Hayes is a highly recommended novel of suspense, terror, and some surprising twists and turns.

A very pregnant Claudia Morgan-Brown is married to James, a Royal Navy officer and is mother to his two twin sons by his first wife. Because he is gone for long periods of time they decide to hire a nanny, Zoe, to help Claudia care for the twins and the soon-to-arrive new baby. At the same time Lorraine, a police detective, is investigating along with Adam, her cheating police detective husband, recent attacks on pregnant woman.

Set in Birmingham, England, the narrative in Until You're Mine is told through the viewpoints of the three women in alternating chapters. We know right from the start that Zoe, the nanny, is suspicious and that everything may not be as she says it is as she takes the job of nanny for social worker, Claudia. Zoe has some kind of relationship with a mentally unbalanced woman who longs to have a baby. Claudia is somewhat suspicious of Zoe but also needs her help with James gone. The twins are a handful and Claudia is still working until her baby is born. Lorraine's marriage is going through a tough time and investigating the brutal attacks against pregnant women is adding to her stress.

I'd have to say that while the writing was adequate, the twists at the end improved my rating of the book. The ending came as a total surprise which redeemed Until You're Mine for me. Up to the ending I was finding the way the voices of Zoe and Claudia were written to be almost indistinguishable from each other - with the only difference simply what they were thinking about. It might have been nice to imbibe them with their own personalities and make the difference between the two a bit more obvious. Lorraine's chapters were easily distinguished from the other two, although some of the side story with Lorraine and her family didn't add to the novel. I did like how the sense of foreboding and dread grew as the novel progressed.

I love a good read with a twist in the tale and this book thoroughly satisfies on both counts. Claudia, a social worker in child protection has recently married a widower and has gained an instant family in his young twin boys. Now she is happily pregnant and nearing her due date and hires Zoe, a nanny to help out when her husband, a submariner has to go on duty and is uncontactable for months. All seems fine at first, but as the novel progresses we begin to question Zoe; her motives, actions and behaviour. As Zoe creeps around Claudia's house, moving in on her friends, her behaviour becomes more erratic - photographing private papers, lying to Claudia and her relationship with an unstable female jeweller, desperate for a child is revealled. At the same time, pregnant women are being attacked and attempts made to steal their children from their womb. This is a dark psychological thriller with a real sting in the tail. Gripping and fast paced from page one. It's the first book I've read by the author, but I will be ordering more on the back of this. Highly recommended.

Solid, twisty tale of pregnancy, fraud, nannies, mental illness, and murder. Hard to say much more, but it's most certainly a book that is hard to put down. Told from multiple perspective, this book mainly follows the interactions among Zoe (nanny), Claudia (pregnant mom), and Lorraine (detective). A few other subplots and diversions. While you'll have your guesses about the who and why, you may just be surprised -- more than once!

Oh my goodness! Don't give this to anyone who is expecting a baby or they will have nightmares. A lovely family in England is expecting and they already have twin boys and mum works as a social worker while dad is in the armed services and away. Claudia is happy with her choice of the new nanny. Zoe seems to good to be true although she does seem a bit secretive.Suddenly a series of attacks on pregnant women begin to happen and detectives put together the clues that may point to an unlikely source. This book has a "Gone Girl" feel to it. We see all sides and draw conclusions. This one will have the midnight oil burning as you rush to find out if you are right about who is the bad guy. I was fortunate to receive an advance from LibraryThing Early Reviewers and I suggest you rush out to read this when it comes out in April.

This was a tense and thrilling story. The story is told from the point of view of three different women. Claudia is pregnant, stepmom to 2 small boys and is married to a husband with a respected job. Zoe is Claudia's nanny. She seems to be hiding secrets and leaves both the reader and Claudia wondering what she wants. Lorraine is the Dectective assigned to investigate who is viciously attacking pregnant women and trying to steal their babies. The plot is both sinister and suspenseful. I was near impossible to stop reading at times. The best part of the book is that it leaves the reader constantly wondering what each character is really after. My only complaint would be that I thought the ending was a bit rushed compared to the rest of the book. The book led us on all these twists and turns and character plots and then the ending was just sort of thrown into the readers face and quickly ended. I actually wished their had at least been an epilogue. However, the book was certainly fun, wicked and highly suspenseful and I was so happy to have had a chance to read an advance copy.

I liked it. It was a bit slow at times. I enjoyed the twist at the end but I was prepared for it but I think the author had to do that otherwise we wouldn't have known why. Even though it was slow, I enjoyed the anticipation and honestly didn't foresee the thing with Pip happening. I thought it was good. I did get the impression that it was going to be a bit more like "Single White Female" with the psycho nanny and was an ickle bit disappointed but it's ok I got over it!

Social worker Claudia's husband, James is in the Navy and frequently away. Claudia is pregnant and due in a bout a month. They hire Zoe as a nanny to their four year old twins and to help when the new baby girl arrives. Lorraine and Adam are detectives investigating attacks on pregnant women. They also have some problems at home that they re trying to resolve. Zoe is behaving strangely and her former roommate is frantic to have a baby. The story is written in several first person and third person voices, which can confuse the reader for the first few paragraphs of each transition, but this is intentional. The book is a quick, easy read and has a few twists to keep the reader interested. I have not been compensated in any way (other than being given a copy of this book to review) and my opinion on the book is entirely my own.

Until You’re Mine by Samantha Hayes is a British crime story featuring DI Lorraine Fisher and her husband DI Adam Scott. I found this to be a mediocre thriller and, in spite of the authors efforts to throw a few twists into the mix, pretty predictable. The story revolves around three women, the very pregnant Claudia Morton-Brown, her newly hired nanny, Zoe and the police detective Lorraine Fisher. The police detectives are investigating a case where pregnant women are being found with their insides slashed open and their babies removed. They are also going through a rough patch in their marriage over Adam’s admitted infidelity and having problems with their 17 year old daughter. Claudia is married to a naval officer who is leaving on manoeuvres and a step-mom to two twin boys and so they hire Zoe as the nanny in order that Claudia has some help and isn’t alone. The reader knows right away that something is off with Zoe, but of course we have to wait until the book’s ending before all is revealed. What I mostly didn’t like about this book was that I felt the author was force-feeding me wrong information in order to make the “twist” when it came an even bigger surprise. Some things were never explained to my satisfaction, and the big reveal wasn’t such a surprise to me after all. This is the first book to feature DI Fisher but I doubt if I will bother to continue with the series as I really didn’t find the main character all that interesting or sympathetic.

Claudia is a social worker, 8 ½ months pregnant and step mum to four year old twin boys. Her husband James is a naval officer on a submarine, who for long periods of time is out of touch with his family. Claudia needs help with the children so hires Zoe, a thirty-something nanny. But Claudia has a feeling about Zoe, and it’s not a good one. Meanwhile, DI Lorraine Fisher and her partner and husband DI Adam Scott, are investigating the horrific murders of young women and their almost full term babies. Their investigation brings them to the house of Claudia and James where their suspicions are not easily allayed. The suspense was high from the beginning of this thrilling story told in the alternating voices of the three women. There was no slow reveal; rather, all the clues were saved up for the ending where everything came neatly together in a totally unexpected conclusion.Well-structured and multi layered, this was a real page turner.

Claudia and James are expecting a baby. What with a set of twins already they hire extra help. Zoe Harper is a nanny and when she is hired by Claudia and James things are not what they seem. Meanwhile Lorraine Fisher is called in to investigate tbe grisly murders of pregnant women. All I can say is what a thriller. As thrillers go this book has all the cliché, a page turner and an edge of seat read. What is clever about this book is that I was drawn in from the word go. I got to like the character of Claudia very much. When Zoe is hired I thought that I had the book all worked out and didn't want to happen what I thought was going to. Then the ultimate twist and the whole book is turned upside down.Nice also to see Lorraine Fisher again as she appeared in another book. I hope to read more of Lorraine as her petsonal life is a story on its own. This book is a top class thriller and I can highly recommend it.

Until You’re Mine, Samantha Hayes Crown Publishing978-0-8041-3689-1Submitted by the publisher$24.00, 355 pgsUntil You’re Mine by Samantha Hayes is one of those psychological suspense novels that is practically impossible to review without spoilers. I’ve tried not to give anything away but please proceed at your own risk.James Brown is expecting a child with his second wife, Claudia. James is a submariner in the Royal Navy and absent from home for long stretches. Claudia is a social worker who very much wishes to return to work after the baby is born. They place an ad for a nanny. Zoe Harper answers that ad and is everything you could possibly wish for in a live-in nanny – unmarried and childless, experienced, possessed of glowing references, and Montessori-trained.Meanwhile, in another part of town, the police are investigating a couple of particularly grisly and macabre murder scenes; someone has been performing amateur C-sections on full-term mothers. Stop me if you’ve heard this before. And there lies the problem.Until You’re Mine is an average treatment of well-worn material in every respect – until the last chapter. The last chapter blindfolds you and spins you around a few times so that you are completely disoriented. The mother of all plot twists at the very end transforms this book from unoriginal to vertigo-inducing. Can you now call it original because it turns out to be clever? I confess myself conflicted. After all, you have to get through more than 300 pages of undistinguished before you get to the unique. I did not appreciate the tactic. However, if you are a die-hard fan of the psychological thriller formula, then you will enjoy this tale.
