About this audiobook

Carl Weber is a recipient of the Blackboard Bookseller of the Year Award. Married Men is a fresh and funny take on modern love that has been described as Waiting to Exhale on testosterone. Lifelong friends Kyle, Allen, Wil, and Jay all make mistakes in their marriages-and all get kicked to the curb by their wives. What follows is a wild ride with stops in sleazy hotels, divorce court, and even jail. In their adventure, fueled by Viagra and lovely young ladies, the four men always have each other to lean on.

This was a great book. Loved all of the characters. They were well suited and the story line is pretty realistic as it talks about middle-aged people in marriages and having lots of difficulties and the trials they experience. Very nice listen. Kept my attention the whole time.

I felt like I was listening to a movie. The audio and narration was so good. I could distinguish between all the characters base on their voices. This book had me entertained from start to finish. I'm truly sad to see the book end.

Many of Carl's books are very good: interesting characters with plot twists and turns you will never see coming. However, this book was an exception. The characters were shallow and the plot was totally predictable. None of the characters were believable (married womanizer falling head over heels for a teen-ager, successful black businessman falsely arrested has to go to Africa because he can't understand why his white wife doesn't support his racial discrimination lawsuit, Momma's boy plans to marry girl who has slept with all his best friends and he understands when she wants take out a $200,000 life insurance policy on his mother, henpecked husband tells his gossiping wife all the dirt on his friends and is shocked when she can't keep her mouth shut). Some of the 1-star reveiwers have commented on the poor portrayal of black women in the book. While I found the women totally uninteresting, I think Carl's portrayal of the men in the story was just as bad. I wouldn't choose any of the characters in the book as role models.I cannot recommend this book and I am glad I borrowed it from my local library instead of purchasing it.
