I really liked this story. It's the second Pamela Clare book I've read and I intend to read every one of the I-Team series. Ms Clare obviously does a lot of research to bring her world to life, and she is very creative when it comes to the situations she puts her characters in. I loved the Native American culture that is front and center of this story. Kat was very likable as the female journalist who has always wanted to give her people a voice through her articles. When it comes to love, she's been saving herself for her future husband and soul mate. When she suffers a near fatal accident, the handsome Gabe comes to her rescue. He's a Mountain Park Ranger, adrenaline junkie, daredevil and womanizer with a painful past. Kat tries to put him out of her mind, but circumstances keep throwing them together. When attempts are made on her life, Gabe steps up to protect her.

I loved the way Kat got under his skin by being the opposite of any woman Gabe has ever encountered. Her wisdom through her upbringing helps him to slowly heal even if he's unaware of it. This may be a romance novel, but the plot was very exciting.

Incredible story, plot and always good to see those amazing characters form the previous books return. Kat was beyond anything I have ever imagined shw would be and let's not even get started about Gabe. The building of their relationship went through all the stages a normal one would and we still got to see all the hang-ups they both had about wach other and some aspects of life in general. They were INCREDIBLY hot and pure chemistry together. After Sophie and Marc, definitely my favorite couple and book!

    Synopsis:
Following a number of incidents and attacks on Native American land, Navajo I-Team journalist Kat James teams up with park ranger Gabe Rossiter to investigate the causes. As the case heats up and Kat and Gabe's passion for each other intensifies, they both become targets for an enemy who will stop at nothing to prevent them from getting to the truth.

    Review:
    Another hit from Pamela Clare.

The suspense plot is clever but could have been better developed in terms of clues and evidence. Nevertheless, the story is engaging and the information about the Native American culture and rituals is very well researched and contributes to the overall atmosphere of the book.

Clare is skilled at writing realistic characters from all walks of life, and Kat and Gabe are an exceptional example. Kat is intelligent and knows what she wants while Gabe is tortured and must come to terms with events from his past if he is to move forward with his life. When the two come together, the result is nothing short of explosive.

The secondary characters are interesting and the cameo appearances by characters from previous books is wonderful, especially the rapport between Marc and Julian, which left me with a smile on my face. As in the previous books, the epilogue is also very enjoyable and provides a strong sense of closure.

Clare's book are action packed and exciting. I recommend reading the series in order although they can be read as stand alones as well because each book focuses on a separate couple and crime. Looking forward to Breaking Point next.

This is Katherine ("Kat)" James,(the I-Team's newest environmental reporter) & Gabe Rossiter's story and Book 4 of the I-Team series. It is a very enjoyable and hot romance with good suspense and a very sexy alpha hero. The plot involves shady goings on in park lands with a Native American sacred connection. The author's attention to detail regarding the Native American culture was very interesting without being overpowering or feeling like some sort of message was being delivered - Kat is a half Navajo Indian and her culture is part of her character - these parts felt very organic to the story. It also made sense that Kat would fall for Gabe - apart from the hotness factor, he is a Mountain Park Ranger (which is actually a police-y type function in the US - here in Australia it's more about flora and fauna management) - but not only does he do the job, he loves the job. His love of the outdoors and nature give him his own connection to the environment which serves to connect Kat and he on another level. The epilogue was a tad saccharin, but I still enjoyed it! I really don't know why it took me so long to read this one - it had been languishing on my TBR almost since its release. I can trust Ms. Clare to deliver a hot sexy romance with a compelling suspense story which doesn't overpower the relationship aspects. I can also trust her not to write stories where the hero and heroine are getting it on when they're bullets flying or something equally ridiculous. I thought Gabe was an awesome, somewhat tortured hero, a little flawed but nevertheless willing to give up everything for Kat. (awww!) Having seen some of those rock-climbing types on the TV, I had a fair idea of just how ripped he was too! I think he's my favourite "I-Team hero" so far.... bearing in mind that there is a new I-Team book out in May, it's possible he will be knocked of his perch fairly soon though!

This was my first book by Pamela Clare and it certainly won't be the last. I wanted to start all over again right after finishing it. The writing is wonderful, I couldn't put it down. The characters were great and memorable. This is a true romantic suspense - both the romance and the suspense were great, that doesn't happen often. If you like romantic suspense, this is a must.
