- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Adventures from the Land of Stories Boxed Set: The Mother Goose Diaries and Queen Red Riding Hood's Guide to Royalty by Chris Colfer This is another series that is like visiting old friends. Not only was a HUGE fan of Colfer's back in the Glee days, but I've read the entire series (The Wishing Spell, The Enchantress Returns, A Grimm Warning, and Beyond the Kingdoms thus far, but the next one comes out next month!). I love that he narrates the books himself. There's something about his voice.
Anyway, I just loved these two novellas. The whole thing totaled about 3 hours of listening time (yes, I got the audiobook instead but it wasn't listed as an option on this site for review and it's all the same story). As always, Little Red Riding Hood and Mother Goose are fun characters, Red for her privilege and naivete about everything around her and Mother Goose for her surly and crass personality that is punctuated by her loyalty to friends. Both are outlandish in their own ways and terribly fun in the fictional sense. I couldn't imagine being around either in real life, though.
Lots of fun! If you've read the series, these are great little additions.
