      I absolutely loved this suspenseful romance. I won this book and volunteered to give an honest review. I've given it a 4.5*rating. Because of the sexual content and violence, this is not suitable for the under 18 readers. This story grabbed me from the beginning and kept pulling me in more. There were a lot of twists and turns, tears and laughs that lead me towards their HEA. This left me with a smile in my heart.

      I must admit I was so sure about this book in the not quite series, but this one was a hit for me! Every single book so far in the not quite series is amazing!

      This review is based on an eARC I received from NetGalley. It is an honest review and the advanced receipt of it in no way affected my review or rating.This is my first time reading a novel from Catherine Bybee and I am wondering what rock I have been living under?? I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book! The story is entertaining, light-hearted, and comical but it also held a dark twist to it that although predictable added just the right amount of edge to keep this story from going into the “mega eye roll” territory.“Analyzing people and recognizing what motivated them to do the things they did-or in this case, not do the things they should-was her job. Keeping her analysis to herself was close to impossible. Dakota had warned her for years to keep her mouth shut unless she was kissing someone. Mary didn’t listen”Mary has had a lifetime to build her walls and keep her heart protected. The only people that she truly loves and trusts are her best friend Dakota Eddy and the only parental figure she has ever known, Sister Mary Frances. Sister Mary was the nun who took named Mary and watched out for her during her infancy and adolescence but she eventually left the church. They are the pillars to her sanity and she is hard pressed to trust anyone else.Glen is a hunk-factor that Mary has long desired but is kept at arm’s reach. Glen is a notorious player who wanted Mary to give him a green light but his player ways have kept him from pursuing her. He felt a desirable tug to Mary but was apprehensive about what kind of girl “sweet Mary” was. They had seen each other a handful of times over the course of a year but neither one of them would take the next step until finally Glen got some good advice – Mary won’t make the first move, just ask her on a date, she will come.“Mary Frances looked him up and down, kept a snarky smile on her face. “When Mary called to say she was on her way and bringing a friend, I half expected a woman. I was starting to think my Mary was a lesbian.” “Oh my-“ Mary Frances cut her off with an evil eye. “Word! How could you think such a thing?” “Because I haven’t met someone you’re dating since you were in high school.”Hil-ar-ious!! Also sweet that her “mom” would be so accepting. Mary was not much of a dating girl but Glen soon found out that there was more to Mary then met the eye. Before he knew it he was watching films like “There’s Something About Mary,” ha ha ha, no…I am totally kidding! Glen discovered that he really liked seeing Mary and his being a licensed pilot and all made the coast-to-coast distance between them a slight inconvenience that was easily overcome. The more time he spent with her the more obvious it was that he has misjudged her and that she was exactly what he did not know that he needed.Besides the romance angle between the two main protagonists there are several supporting characters that are well fleshed out and add to the enjoyment factor. I love the “family” feeling that I get between all characters in this novel. They are unique and add their idiosyncrasies to the mix but in the end it just really enhances the story. The addition of the nun gone rogue is also really entertaining and sweet!This is story is not just a light romance though, there is some mystery and dark twists in this book and I liked the addition of that subplot. It really added depth to the overall story and was a good catalyst to bring the ending to fruition. I gave this story five stars because it had me laughing, cussing, and worrying throughout the whole read. I highly recommend!
