About this audiobook

In the deepest, darkest jungles of Indochina, an ancient evil is waiting in a forgotten, primeval valley. It is patient, monstrous, and bloodthirsty. Perfectly adapted to its hot, steaming environment, it strikes its chosen prey: human. Now Michael Spiers, a Marine sniper, the only survivor of a previous encounter with the beast, is going after it again. Against his better judgement, he is made part of a Marine Force recon team that will hunt it down and destroy it.
The hunters are about to become the hunted.

This is just a bad, pointless writing in writing. The narrator is good and does a great job of almost making it palatable but halfway I just began skipping forward hoping to find something redeeming. And never did.

Two Marine snipers enter a valley across the border in Cambodia. One survives, the other vanished from within arm's length. The survivor is attached to a team of killers and return to the valley. This is first-rate horror with monsdtrs, a gritty Vietnam war story yielding to a mysterious post valley filled with dread from Tim to rim. Excellent writing, great infectious monsters, steadily mounting suspense drawing the reader through the plot. As a horror novel, as a monster story, I can't recommend this more highly.
