About this audiobook
Love is in the air at FairyTale Cupcakes as Angie prepares for her wedding, but, at the same time, her co-owner, Mel, is about to help with a breakup. Mel's old friend Diane has decided to dump her fiance after discovering he's only marrying her for her money. She wants Mel to personally deliver a batch of caramel breakup cupcakes to the louse and give her a play-by-play of his reaction. But when Mel finally tracks the man down, the look on his face isn't what she expected: he's dead.
After the police arrive and see the incriminating cupcakes, Diane becomes their prime suspect. If Diane hopes to taste freedom again, Mel and Angie must make sure the real killer gets their just desserts.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Angie to everyone’s amazement and dismay has turned into a bridezilla. With a major meltdown threatening nearly every day, not even her best friend Mel and her fiancé want to be around her. When Mel’s old college roommate orders break-up cupcakes for her soon to be ex-fiancé, Mel has no idea that when she delivers them, she’ll find out he is an “ex” in more ways than one. She is once again embroiled in trying to solve a murder, this time to clear her old roommate, and to not get killed or in trouble with her uncle or Joe in the process. And all that is still better than dealing with Angie’s wedding woes and tears. This series remains fresh and entertaining and readers will no doubt be clamoring for the next book.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Melanie Cooper has her hands full running her bakery Fairy Tale Cupcakes and dealing with her best friend Angie De Laura who has rapidly and inexplicably turned into a Bridezilla. When Diane Earnest, her old roommate from college, calls and ask Melanie to deliver Breakup Cupcakes to her fiancé, Melanie really doesn't want to do it but she owes Diane a big favor from way back in the college days. Mel really regrets her decision to deliver the cupcakes when she stumbles across the dead body of Diane's fiancé. Mel quickly discovers that a lot of people wanted him dead - was Diane one of them?“Caramel Crush” is the nicely done ninth book in Jenn McKinlay’s Cupcake Bakery cozy mystery series. When cozy mystery series last this long, characters can grow a bit stagnant but McKinlay manages to keep them fresh - especially Angie and Mel in this book. Any woman who has ever been a Maid of Honor or Bridesmaid will no doubt relate to having to deal with Angie as she turns into a Bridezilla - McKinlay walks a fine line with this as Angie's once feisty personality becomes insecure in this book but she does an excellent job of eventually explaining why Angie acts the way she does. McKinlay also does an excellent job of explaining Mel's relationship to Diane -this not only gives us more background information on Mel but nicely sets up the murder mystery (and gives Mel some strong moments in the book especially towards the end). The mystery is well plotted with plenty of suspects, red herrings, and twists and turns to keep the reader guessing to the very end. The book ends on a bit of a cliffhanger - I can't wait until the next book to see what happens!“Caramel Crush” is a nicely done cozy mystery.
