About this audiobook
As a child, Rose Franklin made an astonishing discovery: a giant metallic hand, buried deep within the earth. As an adult, she's dedicated her brilliant scientific career to solving the mystery that began that fateful day: Why was a titanic robot of unknown origin buried in pieces around the world? Years of investigation have produced intriguing answers-and even more perplexing questions. But the truth is closer than ever before when a second robot, more massive than the first, materializes and lashes out with deadly force.
Now humankind faces a nightmare invasion scenario made real, as more colossal machines touch down across the globe. But Rose and her team at the Earth Defense Corps refuse to surrender. They can turn the tide if they can unlock the last secrets of an advanced alien technology. The greatest weapon humanity wields is knowledge in a do-or-die battle to inherit the Earth . . . and maybe even the stars.

Praise for Sylvain Neuvel's Sleeping Giants
"As high-concept as it is, Sleeping Giants is a thriller through and through. . . . One of the most promising series kickoffs in recent memory."-NPR
"Neuvel weaves a complex tapestry with ancient machinery buried in the Earth, shadow governments, and geopolitical conflicts. But the most surprising thing about the book may just be how compelling the central characters are in the midst of these larger-than-life concepts."-Chicago Review of Books
"This stellar debut novel . . . masterfully blends together elements of sci-fi, political thriller and apocalyptic fiction. . . . A page-turner of the highest order."-Kirkus Reviews (starred review)
"Reminiscent of The Martian and World War Z, Sleeping Giants is a luminous conspiracy yarn that shoots for (and lands among) the stars."-Pierce Brown, #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Red Rising trilogy
"First-time novelist Sylvain Neuvel does a bold, splashy cannonball off the high dive with Sleeping Giants. It bursts at the seams with big ideas. This book is a sheer blast from start to finish. I haven't had this much fun reading in ages."-Blake Crouch, author of Dark Matter and the bestselling Wayward Pines trilogy
"A remarkable debut."-Library Journal (starred review)
Sylvain Neuvel
Sylvain Neuvel has taught linguistics in India and worked as a software engineer in Montreal. He is also a certified translator, though he wishes he were an astronaut. His girlfriend would have him believe that he has too many toys, so he writes about aliens and giant robots as a blatant excuse to build action figures (for his son, of course). His debut, Sleeping Giants, was described by NPR as “one of the most promising series kickoffs in recent memory.”

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I am powering through this series! Waking Gods really shines in its scope and character development. My only qualm is with them continually talking about humans 3000 years ago as being completely inept, and at one point Rose mentions we hadn't even invented the wheel yet. Bit bothersome, but I suppose it drives the plot forward and this still merits a solid 5.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Not quite as good as Book One, but not a disappointment either. Ready for Book Three!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This audiobook is just *chef kiss*. There was only one scene where I found listening to be very difficult to listen to, but that was subject matter and it was mostly screaming. Very compelling voice acting. Can't wait to listen to the next book.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Not as good as the first book, but I still enjoyed it. Let’s see how the third book is going to be!
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I liked the first book (sleeping giants) more than this one. The first book had more suspense than this one. The endings are left so hanging that you would like to know what happens next. Coming to narration, it was good different voices. But I am not a fan of the voice of Eva the little girl.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5hold on up your seat. like a great roller coaster this book will slowly build up and take you on a crazy ride. Up, down, twist, down, up and BAMN! what a ride. can't wait to listen to the conclusion.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/53.5 I really enjoyed the audiobook, i didn't remember anything at first but as the book went on, I really got into the story
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5One of the best sci-fi novels I’ve ever read! It’s so easy to get sucked into the characters minds and into their struggles. And the story itself is extremely intelligent and thought out. I highly recommend it!
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5This second book in the series was a HUGE disappointment. What a lame follow-up to the first book. I cannot believe that other reviewers are rating this higher than one star. It's just straight up stupid. Really lousy. Clearly a rushed author trying to please a publisher. I stuck with it to the end because I'm hoping that the third book will be better.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Quite good. More action packed than the last one, but also a bit over indulgiant. Still plenty of science fun.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Simply a fantastic drama produced like a Broadway Play! Can not wait for the next act.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Was a good book, but not great. HINT AT SPOILER/ENDING:
The end reminded me of Tom Cruise. Not unique or original - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Decent story, however the voice acting made the book very difficult to listen to in parts.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Very bad sequel. Stuck to the first one, which was gorgeous, this is a money squeeze, or poor quality, even the reading is over the top.
