Very generic, super-wordy absolutely blunt read, sprinkled with the names of celebrities, to prove a point that doesn’t have to be proved at all.
Do a great job. A lot of it. That’s the key takeaway.
Unfortunately, mr.Holiday himself wasn’t too bothered to make this particular book “perennial.”
Not sure where are those positive reviews are coming from. Probably it’s some promo technique from “trust me I am lying” taking place.
Overall, I am sad I wasted so much time reading this masterpiece. Hope you won’t repeat my mistakes. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5While In the midst of creating a piece of art, this book has been incredibly motivational and helpful in many ways. Ryan Holiday is a great researcher and author.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book is amazing especially targeted to musician, artists, and entrepreneurs alike. Really taps into the the keys to longevity and the mindset of true perennial artists from the past and present. This book reinforces the death to the facade notion and highly emphasizes passion, true grit, proper marketing, consistency, and ultimately results, the key is to recognize that what's immediate is never worth compromising your destiny for. If you want to leave your mark on this world knowing your ideas or talent isn't enough do yourself service and become humble to your craft everything has its precise timing and you can't rush creativity. You also can't rush the time it takes for an audience to see and truly appreciate your work. Just because you think it's great doesn't mean other people will, at least not as quickly as you may infer. Just remember you wan't your art to outlive you not the other way around. Passion trumps pain and perfection is rarely absolute, persistence breaks barriers but patience sees it through so your posterity and relieve it time and time again. Becoming a legend is merely a title but a decision made by the world recognizing that your heart and soul poured through your work is truly worth their stamp of approval
