About this audiobook

I just met the girl of my dreams. Megan Davenport is funny and smart, and she's as much of an insomniac as I am. She's also my team captain's little sister, which I only found out after our passionate kiss. Megan is completely off-limits--her brother makes that very clear--and I know better than to think I can keep a relationship going during hockey season anyway. But that doesn't mean we can't be late-night friends, right? The only problem is, love makes you do crazy things, like breaking all the rules.

Author

Cindi Madsen

Cindi Madsen is a USA Today bestselling author of contemporary romance and young adult novels. She sits at her computer every chance she gets, plotting, revising, and falling in love with her characters. Sometimes it makes her a crazy person. Without it, she’d be even crazier. She has way too many shoes, but can always find a reason to buy a pretty new pair, especially if they’re sparkly, colorful, or super tall. She loves music and dancing and wishes summer lasted all year long. She lives in Colorado (where summer is most definitely NOT all year long) with her husband and three children. The story is okay, but the male narrator was awful. His “girl” voice was grating, annoying, and sounded like the kind of girls no one can stand.

So close 4 or more stars, if you’re reading the book version and can skim past some of the repetitive content it would help A LOT, Dane repeats the same irritating and irrational commentary over and over and over, it’s harder to skim with audiobook. If this was 7 hrs with good editing, it would be a hat trick. Rant over, Dane is away from home trying to put himself in a position to give his family financial stability, Meghan wants a fresh start where she not under a microscope and judged. One more thing, Meghan is barely 18, Dane is 21.

    2.5 Stars for me!

Shouting out with bronchitis while listening to the story tells you that it gets very frustrating. There may be 100 references to the fact that the H cannot have a relationship in the future because a previous relationship had a bad ending. These characters aren't 12 years old!

I gave this 2.5 Stars because I enjoy the brief interaction with the total cast of characters and their is growth and development.

I have read a few books by Cindi and I see a theme. She starts the major drama too early and the ending always drags on and on. If she started it at the 80% mark, it would be more enjoyable for readers like me... just a thought! Cindi is definitely a good author so I will look for her other stories.
