About this audiobook
Summer Hayes is devastated when her co-star shuns her for accidentally sparking rumors that they're lovers. Now the so-called British Bitch has the audacity to ask Summer to pretend to be her girlfriend to get her a role? Elizabeth doesn't even like Summer! Oh, how she'd love to tell her no. And Summer definitely would if it wasn't for the fact she's maybe a tiny bit in love with the impossible woman.
Contains mature themes.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Everything about the book was amazing!! It was my first audiobook and Angela Dawe has basically ruined me for any other narrators. The story was written so beautifully. The plot although albeit common but Lee managed to make it unique. Really really recommend this!

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5My least favourite thing about this book is that it ends.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5A slow burn with great characters. And the narration was excellent!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Ice queen and former child star hit it off!
I loved this book! Especially the beginning and the buildup of them getting to know each other. I liked how both main characters were strong in their own right. Summer is very sweet, yes, but also very smart and talented. And Elizabeth is icy but also tormented in different ways. There's a lot of depth in the book, but it's not too angsty. I listened to the audiobook, and Angela Dawe was an excellent narrator, as always. She brings the characters' personalities and emotions to life. They have a lot of chemistry and it shows. The book seemed very well written, and I only caught a few minor errors (probably just typos). If you haven't read (or listened to) this book, just do it now! - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Freaking loved it, the atmosphere the passion and the drama
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The description does not do this book justice! Simply amazing chemistry. Do not pass this one up!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Great characters, witty writing, and Angela Dawe narrating, as always, doesn’t disappoint!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Probably the best Actress/Hollywood Romance I have ever read and listened to.
The story is not trying anybody to change, rather, it’s what the title says, breaking ones presumed character. It’s about peeling, cracking and being oneself, standing up for yourself on your own volition not because someone pushed you to. It’s also about being truthful, oblivious to truths and finding truths.
Summer’s character was filled with both longing and great understanding. She knows herself, her worth, her feelings and she just let life flow.
She understood situations, and knows boundaries and risks. She’s patient and honest.
She’s not whiny, just quirky - and she really take actions, making things happen not relying on luck. I love how she can read people, and knows how to work on the situations, and subtlety turns it and controls it without it being obvious, without being too loud.
I know her character was supposed to be someone who have admired someone for too long and never moved on, like fangirl, but it wasn’t, it was more.
Elizabeth on the otherhand built her current situation, she was stuck and can’t let go. But instead of changing her, it was simply about her going back to her roots, and breaking from her self made prison, peeling her self made masks.
I think, this is also my favorite on all the Dawes narrated audiobook I have listened to. The voices here, matches the characters very well. It was lovely. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Absolutely brilliant!!! Perfect novel by Lee Winter and the narration of Angela Dawe is just phenomenal.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Wow...Awesome read..couldn't stop listing. Slow start but so worth it!!!!!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I really love the chemistry that these two characters have.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I really enjoyed listening to this book. I couldn’t wait to continue to listen to it and I became really fond of Summer and Elizabeth. I would exclaim out loud when something would happen to them! Bit of a slow burn but 100% worth it.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5This book doesn’t click to me. Summer and Dawe’s narration are two things I like about this book.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Liked it! Really cute story. Could take less time to figure they're both gay, but it was forgivable
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I just finished listening to the audiobook narrated by Angela Dawe and all I have to say is HOT DAMN!! Before I talk about the story, I have to talk about this amazing narrator. Angela Dawe, pls marry me!! Jk, but no really lol this woman is so talented!! All the people she voiced with all those different accents!! Just wow! My mind was blown! But I have to admit that my favorite accent was Elizabeth’s. British accents always get to me in a special way. That was simply amazing! I’m definitely going to be on the lookout for audiobooks narrated by Angela Dawe. Breathtaking!
Regarding this story, I LOVED IT!!! I loved everything!! The main characters and all the side characters, except Grace... for obvious reasons lol
but omg Bess and Summer’s relationship was so beautiful to watch! At first, Bess was annoying me a little with all that obsession with Grace but at the same time I understood her, but since I had a soft spot for Summer, I was, of course, rooting for her and for her to be with the woman she loved. This story really has it all and I’m enamored with it all! This isn’t my first Lee Winter book, but damn SHE IS SO TALENTED! She’s definitely in my top 3 of best wlw writers EVER! The stories she creates are just so deep and emotional and so romantic and I love how invested I get in the storyline and how I can’t stop reading until I reach the end. And that’s why it’s 5AM and I’m still up lol couldn’t sleep until I reached the happy ending ?
100% recommend! - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Excellent narration! Enjoyable story and Lee Winters always delivers with her words.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The Best book ever! I Loved it!!!! It is soo romantic and loved the characters! Especially the narrator did an excellent job. my favorite narrator. ❤️
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Beautiful! So in love with the story and the narration!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Lee Winter is becoming one of my favorite authors. I started listening to this book as a way to get over my hangover from The Brutal Truth. I did not think that I would find myself hours later enthralled with this book now and finding any reason to put my air pods in so I could listen. I even offered to do the dishes, laundry, and mow the lawn just so I could stay in the world Winter had created around these characters. I loved every moment of it.
What I did not expect was to laugh as much as I did. Summer is such an adorable, funny character, and the brilliant Angela Dawe did an amazing job with her voice. I could swear she sounded exactly like Kristen Bell, who I pictured throughout the book. Summer reminded me of her in so many ways.
I never used to be a fan of slow burns, but Lee Winter has changed me forever.
10 stars in my book. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I loved this age gap/thawing the ice queen celeb romance!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Amazing plot and amazing narrator the way summer voice was made made me believe it exactly that it fit her personality
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This was my first Lee Winter book and it was incredible. I loved the chemistry between Elizabeth and Summer. I loved their dynamic and the way they were with each other.
This was so wonderful from start to finish.
