She is also the founder and owner of the longest-running postpartum doula corporation in New York State, Mother Nurture, Inc.Prior to becoming a licensed midwife, Alice was a labor and delivery nurse, a certified childbirth educator, a La Leche League Leader and a doula. She was also a journalist and author who specialized in maternal and child health.Alice had five children, two born with doctors in hospitals, and three born with midwives at home.
