An Eclectic Collection of Children's Short Stories and Poems

About this ebook
This is a collection of short stories and poems that I wrote as a child spanning a time frame of 6 years, from age 7 to 13, out of a desire to be creative. I had a wild imagination (which you will see!), and all of these writings came from within. I had a fondness for scary stories, mysteries, and the unknown, all due I am sure from the books I was reading and the shows I was watching on TV at the time.
I also was an observer of nature and people. During these years I also wrote plays to be performed by the children in my neighborhood in Maple Shade, New Jersey. Sometimes I would star in these “productions,” or I would direct and have a smaller part. If memory serves me correctly, I would write invitations to all of the parents and other children in the neighborhood to come and watch our little plays. And they came and were a wonderful audience! Those were some of the best years of my life.
All of these writings I have been saving in an old, manila folder, just to reminisce and show my children and grandchildren someday. But maybe by publishing them now they will encourage young children of today to stop depending so much on TV, the Internet, and video games to provide their entertainment. Maybe these little stories will inspire them to instead look deep into their own minds, and maybe find an imagination hidden there that they might not have otherwise even known about.
Finally, as you and your children read these stories and poems, please keep in mind that they were written by a child, and in reviewing them I have tried to keep them as original and intact as they were at the time that I wrote them.
Enjoy!

I began writing short stories and poems since I was 7 years old. My first written story was typed on an old typewriter that my grandmother had. As I grew older, my imagination also grew, and I especially liked writing scary stories, stories about unusual things, and the unknown. As I got into my teens, I changed my focus from the scary and unknown to boys (which, really, wasn't that much of a change!). Though I don't write now, I am attempting to publish stories and poems I wrote from the age of 7 to the age of 14.
