About this ebook
In the rapidly changing environment of digital publishing, many authors are asking themselves whether they truly need the services of a traditional publisher. Is it really necessary to have a large chunk of their sales revenue withheld by a distributor and a publisher? This book will provide valuable lessons learned regarding one author's journey through the waters of self-epublishing.

Take one part Appalachian redneck, one part aging wet dream, and one part filthy-minded wordsmith. Mix well and serve with chocolate-covered cherries. There you have the one and only Alessia Brio. Alessia writes all colors and flavors of erotica, from heterosexual to menage to same sex, and from twisted to humorous to deeply touching. (Sometimes, usually by accident, it even qualifies as romance.) Her work has earned her critical acclaim in the form of a few EPIC eBook Awards for Best Erotica, a couple Next Generation Indie Book Awards, and a Romantic Times Top Pick in addition to a plethora of glowing online reviews. Not all of Alessia's publications are allowed here on Smashwords due to censorship. INTRODUCTION
Who the hell am I to give advice about self-publishing? Just someone who's done it and wants to make your journey a bit smoother. I'll say right up front that I don't know everything. I'm still learning, and someone out there undoubtedly knows a better way to get from point A to point B. To that end, feedback is much appreciated.
I will be updating this publication as new lessons are learned and new features are unveiled. Please save your purchase receipt. If/when new editions are released, simply send your purchase receipt to me at alessia [at] purpleprosaic.com, and I'll reply with the updated PDF attached. I plan to keep a change log on the publication page:
