    Do Away With the No Child Left Behind Act!

    A Bit of History

    The No Child Left Behind act (NCLB) was meant to govern standardized tests under to be given under same conditions in public schools, K-12, so that no child will be left behind, or a better word might be overlooked. It was believed that providing a standard would result in a more accurate measureable outcome in education. Standard tests would be developed and given annually as assessments of basic skills. These tests would be mandatory for those schools that would receive federal funding.

    If the students at a particular school would score badly on these tests, then measures would be taken which would improve the school, which would be a two-five year process.
