    Presentation

This interactive e-book is a practical introduction for a first approach to elementary algebra. It introduces the concepts and all the operations necessary to solve algebraic expressions and linear equations with one variable; as a prerequisite you are supposed to know how to compute the relative numbers. The text contains many interactive exercises on the calculation of monomials and polynomials and simple algebraic expressions; how to calculate the factorization of polynomials and algebraic fractions will be offered in the second volume. To learn algebra it is necessary to acquire a certain mastery of calculation; this is obtained by performing many guided exercises (something similar happens when you learn to play the piano). To this end, the proposed interactive exercises control every single inserted monomial showing any error committed.

The text will use the bold to highlight important words or phrases,

the highlighter to highlight important aspects, such as definitions,

characters with constant space to write formulas.

The text, in the new format EPUB3 includes images, tables, animations, interactive exercises, all of which, distributed in multiple pages, can be confusing to read. On the other hand, the book has been designed with the intention to make it readable not only by the tablet but also from smartphones with a screen size of 5 inches. The alternative is the rigid format with fixed layout, which does not allow, of course, a personal management of the ebook; I preferred, therefore, the not fixed version, letting the reader adapt to the book in a way that seems more suited to its fruition.
