      Booth, et al. provides a new approach toward research that transformed my approach toward research projects.

      This book presents a clear, thorough guide to crafting a research paper. It acknowledges the requirements of different fields and preferences of individual writers, while focusing on the essentials of any successful paper. My only wish is that I had discovered this book during my freshman year of undergrad; I cannot stress enough how many headaches it would have saved. Highly recommended for researchers at any level, and most especially for the student.

      I've read up a lot about research and this book introduced a lot of things that I had never run into before, but as a voracious reader I intuitively knew that they make a lot of sense. Very easy to read, well-organized chapters and sections, does not try to overwhelm you with too much information at once.

      The authors create the feeling that they are both knowledgeable and really understand what it is like to be a student, which reminded me of my uncle who works at CSU-Bakersfield. It also seems like they might work in different disciplines, however the author's note puts them all in English and Literature. This just further shows what a good job they've done being interdisciplinary.

      Going to Grad school? Writing a paper, thesis or disertation? Then you'll want this book. Such projects require process- a process that you need to know going in rather than 3/4ths of the way through.

      A text book from my Penn days - this was for my master's paper class. This one is a good book and does provide a whole range of writing tips from the 'broad approach' type advice to the more detailed bits - like the use of 'warrants'. Definitely a good book!

      Excellent resource for any level educational paper. Very concise and descriptive in making it readable and understandable.

      A fairly good introduction on how to write research papers and reports. I got this while writing my masters thesis, have read through once, and will definitely come back to the relevant chapters when I start reviewing my draft. The explanations are quite good, and it formalizes some things I had mostly done intuitively until now.

      So, if you are a researcher or a student tasked with writing a research paper, I can recommend this book, especially since it will not bankrupt you.
