The biography of Sun Tzu (also known as Sun Zi and Sun Wu, his name really meaning ‘Master Sun’) is incomplete and subject to inaccuracies, as the only information we have on him is from documents that date from several centuries after his death. According to tradition, this general from the state of Qi (North of the current province of Shandong, China) lived in the sixth century BC, during the Spring and Autumn period (or Chunqiu period, 722-481 BC).
