- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This is a great companion to the first book of poems by cats, and a wonderful gift for any of the cat lovers in your life. The poems are once again charming, funny, and sometimes a little too true, and the accompanying pictures are adorable. Would recommend.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Adorable book of poems allegedly by cats, with perfectly chosen pictures to accent each poem. Very entertaining for the cat lovers among us - would make a great holiday gift. Marciuliano clearly has spent time observing the kitties who share our lives, and has channeled their inner thoughts with perfect cattitude! Thanks for the Early Reviewers copy!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5As a poetry geek, I was pleasantly surprised by this title. I was expecting a novelty/joke book but, while I Could Pee on This Too could certainly serve that purpose, it is fully prepared for more deeper reading. The poems here actually use some strong poetic methods, especially some lovely last-line turns, reminiscent of those found in sonnets. I would have liked to see a little more variety in the poems, as the format & rhythm can become a bit monotonous in a cover-to-cover read, but hey, they're cats, right? They can stare at a blank wall for hours, so they're likely pretty immune to the ennui of monotony. My major quibble here is with the images. The selected photographs aren't bad, but given the seemingly infinite number of awesome/hysterical/cute cat images that can be found with a simple internet search, i found the selection here to be a little lackluster. A good gift for your cat-loving friends that can also find a home in some school libraries as an introduction to poetry for your more poetry-adverse students.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5It's a lovely, silly little book for reading in short doses. I'm not sure there's anything here you couldn't get from the original, aesthetically speaking, but it's quite entertaining and diverting nonetheless.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5A gift book aimed at cat owners would not normally be my cup of tea, but as someone amused by the utter diffidence of cats and how they treat their humans, this collection of short poems supposedly written by cats made me laugh out loud a couple of times. My wife and kids enjoyed my dramatic readings of some of them as well. You could do worse than this slight volume for the cat lover in your life.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I could Pee on This Too is a wonderful little book of poetry as written by cats. It is divided into 4 chapters. 1. Our People, 2. Our Home, 3. Our Thoughts, and 4. Our Rules. Also included with most of the poems are pictures of cats being adorable, or just being cats.I know most of the poems are spot on what my cats are thinking about me, (sometimes scary) and how they feel about the other cats they live with. This book truly captures the spirit of the cat. As good and as bad as that can be.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5“I Could Pee on This Too” is a short but delightfully funny collection of poems written from a cat’s point of view. Author Francesco Marciuliano, who is clearly owned by cats, divides the book into four chapters: Our People, Our Home, Our Thoughts, and Our Rules and each chapter has poems that perfectly capture the world of the cat. While I love all the poems in this book, there are a few that stood out to me (some of which could have been written by my cats!). Some examples are: “I watch”, “A Name”, “You are the Last Person”, “Fish”, “All For You”, “The Box”, “I'm Here for You home”, “Home Décor”, “I Don't Like Humans”, “The Moment”, “Laundry”, and “Season to Taste”. These poems, and other poems in the book, made me feel like Marciuliano was peeking in my windows, watching my cats go about their daily lives. Also included in the book are many delightful pictures of cats - some with adorable expressions on their face!“I Could Pee on This Too” is a wonderful set of poems written from a cat’s perspective.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This compact collection of poems by cats is liberally illustrated with delightfully charming pictures of adorable cats. That being said, the poems themselves reveal some of the less than desirable traits that cats can occasionally exhibit. Not liking the other cat, being provoked by humans (e.g., changing the menu or using the cat carrier), and generally getting even with the things they don’t like, are all subjects explored by some these cat poets which have exposed the seamier side of catdom. Still, these are poems by cats about cats – what’s not to like? Maybe book number three will dwell on the cuter countenance of cats.
