Dolphin Kick

A swimming kick used mainly in butterfly in which the legs are extended straight back and moved up and down in unison with a slight bend in the knees on the upward movement.

Gliding
A streamlined, arrow-like position as the body moves through the water with no arm or leg action.

Frog Kick
A swimming kick used in the breaststroke in which the knees are drawn up close to the hips and the feet are thrust outward and backward so that the legs come together when fully extended.

Flutter Kick
A swimming kick used in crawl and backstroke in which the legs are extended straight back and alternately moved up and down with a slight bend in the knee on the upward movement.

Freestyle
A swimming event or leg of an event in which the contestants may choose any stroke. Is an unregulated swimming style used in swimming competition

Inhale
To draw into the lungs by breathing.

Jump In
To spring off the ground or other base by a muscular effort of the legs and feet.

Prone Float
In waist-deep water lie face down on the water and return to standing position without assistance or support

Recovery
Movements that return the limb to its original position.

Rhythmic Breathing
-is the technique used by swimmers to breathe efficiently. -It enables you to take in enough air to sustain your workout while keeping your swim pace. You can also use it to drive up the intensity of your workout and make your lap swimming more effective.

-Alternately inhale through the mouth above the surface and exhale through the mouth and nose, with head completely submerged, ten times rhythmically and continuously.

Water Balance
- prevents corrosion/scale, protects investment,

and provides sparkling water. Balanced water is water whose chemical properties are adjusted to help provide the most favourable conditions for pleasant swimming. These properties must be considered and kept at specific levels.

They are: Sanitizer (Chlorine or Brominel) Ph Total Alkalinity Calcium Hardness Stabilizer also called Conditioner (Chlorine Pools Only) Oxidizer (Baquacil Pools) Total dissolved solids Salt Level (if the pool uses salt to make chlorine)
