CDS Exam

CDS Exam Other than NDA exam, the other entrance exam conducted by Union Public Service Commission for the recruitment into the Indian Navy, Military, Air Force and Officers Training Academy (OTA) are known as CDS Exam. Candidates who want to serve these fields have to fulfill following criteria: They should be an Indian Citizen or a subject of Bhutan or Nepal. They can also be a Tibetan Refugee. Candidates who are giving this Combined Defence Services Exam for IMA, Naval and Air Force, Candidate should be an unmarried male and should not be less than 18 years of age and more than 24 years, 21 years and 22 years respectively. For OTA (Male wing): Same as IMA For OTA (Women Non-Technical wing): Women should be Unmarried, Issue less Widows or Divorcees with an age not more than 24 and less than 18 years. Educational Qualifications for this CDS Exam: candidates who want to apply for IMA and Officers Academy have to posses degree from a recognized University or equivalent; For Naval Academy, Candidates who are giving this Combined Defence Services Exam should posses an Engineering degree for CDSE or B.Sc. (with Maths or Physics) for NCC entry; For Air Force, Bachelor of Engineering or degree of renowned University with PCM at 12th level. Candidates in the final year can also apply. Syllabus for this Combined Defence Services Exam includes Elementary Maths Paper of Matriculation level. Other subject papers like English would be of graduate level and GK is included in this CDS Exam to check the current affair knowledge of candidates. After that an Intelligence and Personality Test has been conducted for the candidates who have been selected in the written Combined Defence Services Exam at the Service Selection Centers. Maximum marks for this interview is 200. For each subject paper time given and the questions asked is equal i.e. 2 hours to solve 100 questions. For OTA, CDS Exam includes only two papers i.e. English and GK. CDS exam have been conducted twice a year. Notifications have been published 4 months before the date of exam. So, candidates will get enough time to prepare for the CDS exam syllabus.
