Introduction to Importance of chemistry in daily life:Chemistry is not alien to us. Chemistry is in our body.

Chemistry is outside our body and chemistry is around us. The first thing we do early in the morning is to brush our teeth. Tooth paste contains chemicals such as monoflurophosphate, sodium sulphate etc. Next we wash with water. Water is a chemical contains 2 parts hydrogen and one part oxygen. The milk that we drink contains calcium which is a chemical. Our body contains many amino acids to help in digestive system. Importance of Chemistry in our Daily Life (chemistry in Daily Life) Chemistry in daily life follows ua as we bathe, cook and wash. When we bathe we use soap made out of vegetable oil and some chemicals. Neem oil contains certain antibacterial chemical and so neem soap is good protecting us from bacteria, and itches. Glycerine soap keeps our skin smooth and blemishles. We also have medicated soaps prescribed by the doctors for skin infections. Next comes cooking:- Chemistry in daily life plays a very important role here. The grains such as rice and wheat contain starch which is a long chain of hydrocarbons. These carbohydrates help the children t to grow. Next pulses supply proteins, Green leafy vegetables give us the necessary iron to supply the blood The iodised salt is a necessary intake. It prevents a disease called goitre. The vegetables also contain chemicals for cooling the body. Vitamins are supplied by them. Vincarosea is a chemical found in a certain flower. It is a good cure for blood diseases and it is antipoison Onion and garlic contain certain chemical properties that purifies the blood. Safron is antibacterial. That is why we add it in our food preparation. Ginger contains certain oil that gets rid of the extra air in our system Sarpagandhi Rawolfia Serpentina is a root. It reduces blood pressure,It is a remedy for blood cancer and asthma. It also cures skin cancer and mental diseases. Now let us see how chemicals in daily life in used in washing purpose.Washing soda is a chemicals which cleans up our daily clothes effectively.Bleaching powder is also used for cleaning purpose. It is antobacterial. Even drinking water stored for the city is cleaned up with bleaching powder before it reaches the city. Hospitals ahd health centres use a lot of chemicals in medicine form to treat sickness. Impotance of Chemistry in Daily Life Outside Home.:The paints and varnished we use to paint our home are achemical mixtures. The redoxide that we use to protect our ironrailings contains iron oxide which offers a protective layer over the irons. In the garden we use sprays to kill insects from attacking our plants. Vermiwash is a liquid fertilizer. It isused as a leaf spray. Azdirachtin is a biopesticide . Air is a mixture of gases. It contains the life supporting oxygen for human kind and nitrogen for plants. In villages the air is pure. There are trees that supply oxygen to

man. In return man gives carbondioxide to them whichis essential tp plants and trees. Nature has arranged this exchange program so that both man and nature live peacefullyside by side. But todays vehicles which consume petrol and diesel emit out green house gases dangerous for the survival on earth.Due to these grees house gases, a hole has appeared in the ozone layer that protects us from UV rays.As a result global warming has taken place which is a destroyer of the planet earth. The other chemicals that add to this disaster are the ones we use in our refrigerator, airconditoner etc.Chemistry in daily life is good as long as it balnces the nature. When nature is outbalanced by these cheimcals, it becomes a disaster. Most people have chosen to write their essay about how chemistry has played an important role in everyday life. I have chosen to ask, how doesnt it play a role in everyday life? The simple fact is that chemistry plays an important role in every persons daily activities from the moment were born. So what role does chemistry really play in everyday life? Well, this involvement usually begins first thing each morning. Most people wake up to an alarm or radio. These common household items contain batteries, which make them very chemically dependent. These batteries contain positive and negative electrodes. The positive electrode consists of a carbon rod surrounded by a mixture of carbon and manganese dioxide. The negative electrode is made of zinc. Chemistry plays an important role in the discovery and understanding of materials contained in these and many other common household items. Things like household cleaners and water purification systems are vitally dependent on chemistry. Without chemistry something as simple as scrubbing a toilet without fear of severe burns or small explosions might not be possible. Next, though it isnt widely known, chemistry is also heavily involved with the manufacturing of things such as makeup and soap. Each time you bathe you are witnessing chemistry at work. Chemicals such as cetyl alcohol and propylene glycol are typical ingredients in the soap used to wash your hair and skin. Without chemistry, these materials (or combinations of these materials) might be hazardous or might not exist. The chemical coloring agents used in makeup and nail polish would not be possible without an understanding of the chemicals involved. Almost anything you do during the course of a normal day involves chemistry in some way. The gas and tires in cars we drive, the makeup we put on our faces, the soaps and cleaners used everyday, burning wood or other fossil fuels, chemistry is all around you each and every day. The associations are practically limitless. So, as you go about your daily activities, remember to thank chemistry. As my teacher always says, remember, "CHEMISTRY IS LIFE!"

What Is Chemistry? Chemistry is the study of matter and energy and the interactions between them. This is also the definition for physics, by the way. Chemistry and physics are

specializations of physical science. Chemistry tends to focus on the properties of substances and the interactions between different types of matter, particularly reactions that involve electrons. Physics tends to focus more on the nuclear part of the atom, as well as the subatomic realm. Really, they are two sides of the same coin. The formal definition of chemistry is probably what you want to use if you're asked this question on a test. Why Study Chemistry? Because understanding chemistry helps you to understand the world around you. Cooking is chemistry. Everything you can touch or taste or smell is a chemical. When you study chemistry, you come to understand a bit about how things work. Chemistry isn't secret knowledge, useless to anyone but a scientist. It's the explanation for everyday things, like why laundry detergent works better in hot water or how baking soda works or why not all pain relievers work equally well on a headache. If you know some chemistry, you can make educated choices about everyday products that you use. What Fields of Study Use Chemistry? You could use chemistry in most fields, but it's commonly seen in the sciences and in medicine. Chemists, physicists, biologists, and engineers study chemistry. Doctors, nurses, dentists, pharmacists, physical therapists, and veterinarians all take chemistry courses. Science teachers study chemistry. Fire fighters and people who make fireworks learn about chemistry. So do truck drivers, plumbers, artists, hairdressers, chefs... the list is extensive. What Do Chemists Do? Whatever they want. Some chemists work in a lab, in a research environment, asking questions and testing hypotheses with experiments. Other chemists may work on a computer developing theories or models or predicting reactions. Some chemists do field work. Others contribute advice on chemistry for projects. Some chemists write. Some chemists teach. The career options are extensive. Where Can I Get Help With a Chemistry Science Fair Project? There are several sources for help. A good starting point is the Science Fair Index on this website. Another excellent resource is your local library. Also, do a search for a topic that interests you using a search engine, such as Google. Where Can I Find Our More About Chemistry?

Start with the Chemistry 101 Topic Index or list of Questions Chemistry Students Ask. Check out your local library. Ask people about the chemistry involved in their jobs. Where Can I Get Answers to Chemistry Questions? The Chemistry Forum is a great place for quick answers from scientists, teachers, students, and other people interested in chemistry.

The Importance of Chemistry We are surrounded everyday by Chemistry. Chemistry was responsible for you car to get you to work, your furnace to heat your home, and your body to turn your breakfast into energy. The coke you drank with your lunch was flavoured by chemistry. Chemistry is often called the central science, be

They discovered by mixing some twenty odd chemicals together they could flavour something with the flavour of peaches with out that item of food coming in contact with a single peach. When we tan is the sun it is a chemical reaction between our skin and the UV rays of the sun. cause it is vital in the sciences of physics and biology. Blend together a few different chemicals and you can create a pleasant smelling liquid, thus revolutionizing the perfume industry. For example a living organism is a complex chemical factory; by understanding the chemical behaviour scientists can find new ways to treat disease. Chemists have even made it possible to produce crops of food plants that are hardier than the parent strains. Chemists use their knowledge of the properties of this reaction to create effective sunscreen. Chemists discovered certain compounds can be used as a non-toxic food perseverant. Chemists have been able to make lots of useful inventions by using their knowledge of Chemistry.
