The Cathedral of St. Nicholas of Bari, built in the 13th century and enlarged in Catalan Gothic style from 1480; there is a monument to
the Duca di Moriana inside. The faade, belonging to the Baroque Spanish colonial restorations of 16501723, has a rectangular portico
surmounted by three niches housing statues of saints. The bell tower is in Romanesque style.

A 1752 chapel in honor of the Virgin of Mercy is dedicated to the patron saint of Ajaccio, Virgin Mary. It has a marble altar designed
by Geonese sculptors decorated with spiral Brocatello marble from Spain.
The 1765 Chapel of Our Lady of the Rosary houses a stucco altar and series of boxes representing the Glorious, Joyful, Luminous and Sorrowful
Mysteries of the Rosary of the Virgin, a central niche with the statue of the Virgin Mary and two side niches containing statues of Saint Dominic and Saint
Catherine of Siena.
A chapel with its marble altar dedicated to the Body of Christ. The altar is in white marble relief and colored marble.
The small eighteenth century Our Lady of Tears chapel contains many murals by Domenico Tintoretto and Eugne Delacroix's The Triumph of Religion.
The cathedral also houses a large pipe organ built in 1849 by Aristide Cavaill-Coll and later restored and electrified by Jol Ptrique.
