La Germania cookers are made by the Bertazzoni family company in Emilia-Romagna, one of the great culinary regions of the world. The region is famous for its prosciutto di Parma, salami and mortadella, delicious pastas, Parmesan cheese and balsamic vinegar. Restaurants and the kitchens of every home fill the streets with the delicious aromas of food and cooking. Here people love to eat. Eating is festive; the talk is of food, of special menus and recipes passed down through the generations. For their beloved pasta, sauces, meats, fish, traditional pizza, risottos and other regional dishes, generations of Italians have relied on La Germania cookers for the home.

Perfected over generations

Over a hundred years ago, Italian machine-maker Francesco Bertazzoni and his son Antonio first saw wood-burning cooking stoves arrive in their town on the railway from Austria. They decided to make their own just for local use to begin with, and in very small quantities. It was the start of an outstanding success story.

The family built their first factory in 1909. After the First World War, they began making cooking stoves on a much larger scale, and launched the new brand name, La Germania. The Bertazzonis introduced their first gas hob units in 1953, soon followed by their first gas stoves. The design was further perfected in 1958 with the addition of an oven. Exports started in 1959, and through the next decades sales boomed. Today La Germania cookers are appreciated in 60 countries around the world. But the makers never forget their roots in the traditions of Italian style, and that they remain specialists in the very personal craft of cooking.

Oven features and settings made easy

La Germania fan gas ovens give an even heat and faster cooking, helping to lock in the foods juices. Different foods can be cooked at the same time without flavour crossover. There are La Germania models that feature multi-function ovens with built-in grill, combination cooking and closed-door grilling. There are hobs incorporating sensitive triple-ring burners that give precise heat, from simmering to full power. Versatile and matching accessories include splashbacks and canopies.

Safety is important, and La Germania gas models are equipped with one-touch and child-safe ignition and gas safety systems for all oven burners and selected hobs.

Conventional

Upper and lower elements. Ideal for cooking casseroles and delicate baking such as souffles, pavlova and rich fruit cakes.

FUll grill

Perfect for quick browning of foods such as cheese on toast, toasted sandwiches and surface browning of Lemon Meringue pies or Frittata. Ideal for lean meats, fish, poultry, capsicum. Also ideal for foods which require additional browning such as lasagne, pork crackling and au gratin dishes. Fan only. Perfect for thawing frozen food.

Upper element

Ideal for finishing foods which require additional surface cooking such as moist cakes.

Fan grill

lower element

Ideal for foods which require additional cooking of the base such as quiches, apple pies and pizzas.

Fan ForCed Cooking

Ideal for cakes, pastries, roasts, scones, sponges. And multi-level cooking.

Conventional gas

Ideal for cooking casseroles and delicate baking such as souffles, pavlova and rich fruit cakes.

Fan gas Cooking

Provides even and tender results on a range of foods including roasts, pastas, cakes, biscuits and pastries.

Fan gas ovens give even cooking results on multiple shelves. Food is quickly sealed, and different dishes, such as baking and crispy roasting, can be cooked at the same time.
