Wonder of my body science & P.E. Wonder of my feelings & need for relationships- PSE

3-06a I have researched into the social, political and religious life in Jesus land 2000 years ago to develop my understanding of Jewish expectations of the Messiah.

I have explored the Christian belief that God created human beings male and female in his own image and likeness (Gen. 1:1-2:25) I know that when I respect Gods creation, including myself (body, mind and soul), other people and the planet, I am growing in the likeness of Jesus. I have explored the ways in which we need other people in order to develop both in body and spirit (ccc 1936) I have researched some aspects of the life of a Jewish family living in Palestine at the time of Jesus. Family life: work and employment, activities, language. The geography of his land: Roman Occupation, Jewish leadership, Trade/Economy/Taxation Temple life: Synagogue, worship, beliefs and practices of the Jewish people Tension and similarities between key religious groups: In particular the Pharisees, the Sadducees, the Zealots. I have developed an understanding of how the Roman occupation would have impacted on the lives of the Jewish people. I have considered the literal meaning of the term Messiah for the Jewish people at the time of Jesus. I have reflected upon what this understanding would have meant for the hopes/dreams and expectations of the Jewish people at the time of Jesus. I have considered how the Roman occupation would have influenced the Jewish peoples expectation of the Messiah.
