The following is the mandatory Physical Education uniform that must be worn daily purchased from the SSHS P.E. Department. ABSENCE/MEDICAL MAKE-UPS:
The academic grade is lowered with every absence. Students must make-up absences in order to earn the missed participation points; the only exception to this is absence for school business. The student must inform the teacher prior to his or her known absence. Sick days and medical excuses MUST be made up. Activities to make-up absences will be left up to the discretion of the individual teacher.

ILLNESS OR INJURY:
In order to earn a P.E. credit, a medical excuse must not exceed 22 days on a block schedule. A student with a long-term illness or injury, prohibiting participation, should meet with the teacher and counselor to explore appropriate options outside of Physical Education class. In this case, a medical excuse should be filed with the school health clinic. Students are allowed only 2 excuse notes from home. The parent may write a note to the teacher to excuse a student from participation in P.E. for a maximum of two (2) consecutive days. Illness or injury exceeding two (2) consecutive class periods must be covered by a doctors written excuse. Absences or non-participation days will need to be made up in a manner not involving physical activity (i.e., written research report, magazine summaries, book report, sport packet, etc.). All injuries sustained during a P.E. class, however minor, should be reported to the teacher immediately.

LOCKERS:
Once a student pays the $5.00 lock deposit/rental fee they will be assigned a small PE locker. Failure to return the lock at the conclusion of the semester will result in the lock deposit fee not being refunded. For safety reasons, students will NOT be allowed to use their own personal lock in the locker room. NO EXCEPTIONS! In class, students should lock their street clothes, books, and any personal belongings in the long lockers. P.E. clothes, when not in use, should be locked in the students assigned SMALL locker. Long lockers are for use during class time only! Students leaving their P.E. clothes or personal belongings in a long locker outside of class time will have their items removed. The following are locker room rules and expectations for all students: a. Students are not allowed to share lockers. b. Students should never give their lock combination to anyone. c. If your lock is locked it can never be taken, nor can anyone steal your items that are locked. d. All locks that are turned in can be found in the PE office. e. Never leave large amounts of money or expensive items in your PE locker at any time.

ATTENDANCE/TARDY:
In order to be considered on time to P.E., students must be in the locker room before the tardy bell rings AND in their assigned roll call area when the teacher begins class. The school tardy policy will be enforced. The W.C.S.D. attendance policy will be observed. Tardy students will serve a teacher detention the same day. Students have the option of doing push-ups in place of serving detention for being tardy. Students must remain in the assigned activity area with their assigned teacher (unless a pass is issued) for the entire class period in order to be considered in attendance. Leaving class early, leaving the area your PE class is being held, leaving the locker room/P.E. area before the passing bell rings, or not reporting to the teacher when late to class may result in a student being marked absent/truant and their grade reduced.
