    Judea and Samaria General Overview


    Over the course of the reported period, 72 violent riots occurred in the Judea and Samaria region. On one occasion a Molotov cocktail was thrown at an Israeli civilian vehicle. Terrorist activity, rioting and weapon confiscations declined as compared to the previous period but did continue to occur in Judea and Samaria. On two occasions (27 and 27 July 2012) improvised detonators were found in the vicinity of the city of Nablus and the Ma'ale Shomron community. In addition, incidents involving Molotov cocktails continued during the reported period: 20 July 2012 - A number of Palestinians rioted and threw Molotov cocktails at an Israeli civilian vehicle in the vicinity of the Sha'arei Tikva community. The vehicle sustained damage.

    Gaza Strip General Overview


    Rocket fire from the Gaza Strip persisted during the reported period as 9 Qassam Rockets, 2 Mortars and 1 Grad Rocket were fired from the Gaza Strip at Israeli civilian populations in southern Israel. In addition, there were continued attempts to attack the border crossings between Israel and the Gaza Strip including the following event which took place on 25 July 2012: An IED was detonated west of an IDF force during an initiated activity west of the technical fence, northeast of the Kerem Shalom crossing. A D-9 vehicle sustained minor damage.
