What the participants don't know is that the crossword final is many orders of magnitude tougher than the prelims. If, say, the prelims are 'Blistering Barnacles!', then the finals will be '10000 Thundering Typhoons!' By giving an easy set of clues in the prelims, we'll lull the participants into a false sense of security. Muhahahaha!
