Complimentary Seminar: Form 990 vs.

Audited Financials
Explaining Differences to the Board of Directors (Washington, DC) August 17th Nonprofit CPA Firm, Tate & Tryon will be hosting a complimentary seminar, Form 990 vs Audited Financials Explaining the Differences to Board of Directors, on Wednesday August 29, 2012 from 8:30am 10:30am. The two hour event is designed to provide nonprofit executives with a comprehensive explanation of the key differences in purpose, preparation and usefulness of financial data between the Form 990 and the organizations audited financial statements. The Form 990 and audited statements both contain key financial information, but unfortunately the numbers dont always agree with each other. This is often confusing for many who think the audited financials and Form 990 should reflect the same data, said Doug Boedeker, CPA, Partner at Tate & Tryon. This seminar will help organization management gain a clear understanding of why these discrepancies occur and how to explain them to non-financial stakeholders.

Key topics to be discussed include: GAAP/tax differences in revenues and expenses Governance, policies, executive compensation: GAAP view vs. tax view Related party transactions and reporting Financial statement vs. 990 disclosures
